Saqa:

Which tradeskills get to keep their trans thing even after skillflexing/forgetting?

Tailoring, Bookbinding, Jewelry, Lorecraft, Tinkering, and Spellcraft.

Falcon:

Has anyone tried the slot machine yet?

Yes. It's like the Chaos Wheel, but much more affordable and much more addicting. D:

Is there any way to add an inscription to a painting without exhibiting it?

If you stay a warrior, sure.

How do these new race hat things work? Do they give the stats of the race or what?
Lendren2011-10-12 17:48:23
Opposite: they give the changeself appearance of the race, so you can really be one race and look like another. Nothing illusionists haven't been able to do all along, but now available to everyone.
Unknown2011-10-12 18:10:18
I kinda wish they just added Changeself to Spellcraft Enchanting (EDIT: Almost forgot Bards had Illusions), so that we could have enchanted rings with it and it would be more widely available. But since the hat isn't a limited time dingbat arti (is it? :o ) and it only costs 50db, I don't really care either way at this point. It's done.

Though if you want to "authentically" have the stats of one race and roleplay another:

  • You'd need the changeself hat (50db),
  • Unless you're pretending to be a Human,Trill, Viscanti, or Kephera, you must take Bookbinding as your tradeskill and pick the mimicked race's language as your first learned language. 7 lessons in Bookbinding is no big deal, but you sacrifice the tradeskill slot until you can pick a second. NOTE: Being Illithoid as your native race doesn't help you speak the language, though I suppose you can get away with just understanding them all. But try not to die when anyone's watching because of the whole "inner worm" thing. :P
  • It would be ideal to have a Gem of Cloaking so your absence on RWHO isn't blatantly obvious, unless you're pretending to be a race that hardly anyone plays anyway, and
  • You should learn the mimicked race's racial emotes and copy them into aliases. You should then set up an alias/trigger to disable your title and family name, if applicable, whenever you do one of those racial emotes so it looks "natural" (i.e., not obviously a custom emote with full name and title).

Now, you don't actually have to do any of these things. You can just buy the dingbat hat and if that's all you wanted to be happy with your RP, that's great!
Lendren2011-10-12 19:07:14
That racial emote thing would really be nice to be available to people who had changeselfed or wore a hat. (I also wish you could do the faeling hover one if you had the faerie wings artifact.) I've been wishing for this for ages, and it seems odd you can conceal your entire body and grow an illusory tail and then move realistically as you walk, fight, dance, and so on... but you can't wag that illusory tail? You can replace your entire body with the appearance of crystal, but you can't make it turn a little green? Maybe the hats will finally get the idea thought about it.

What's the limit of characters/lines per page of a bookbinded item?
Enyalida2011-10-12 22:34:54
None, last I tested. You can write a complete memoir on one side of a scroll.
Lendren2011-10-13 01:16:25
I have seen a limit on scrolls, but I can't tell you what it is because it wasn't clear if it's a number of characters, or lines, or what. But some of my play working scripts didn't fit on one side.
Ssaliss2011-10-13 01:33:26
Way way back (several years ago), I noticed there was a limit of... I think it was 2048 characters on a single journal page in Achaea. It could be that it carried over to Lusty as well.
Lendren2011-10-13 10:28:35
Oh, no, it's wildly more than that. That would only be less than 30 lines.
Calixa2011-10-16 14:18:58
Anyone have the lines for kirigami and wetfold fading? I know "refreshed" appears in them but I'm not finding the line in my buffer, even though it should just have faded.
Ssaliss2011-10-16 14:27:21
Kirigami: A swirling energy suddenly manifests around you and collapses inward, briefly taking the shape of a kirigami before it vanishes, leaving you curiously refreshed.
Lendren2011-10-16 14:54:17
Wetfold is the same except it says it takes the shape of a wetfold origami.
Calixa2011-10-16 15:41:13
Lovely, thanks, got them both highlighted now. I tend to rely on the m&m timers but it's not working for wetfold, somehow. Better report that <_<

Ok. can you change description with these hats then? Can you wear them under a crown?
Casilu2011-10-17 02:13:07
Can I buy my own arena?
