They lose momentum, yes. As to what happens to them, I think it's a little inconsistent. I know specific exceptions had to be made for claws and crotamine(?) to stop them from ticking while the target was fleshstoned.

Beast spirit cures include all horehound and reishi cures, nothing like focus spirit (which rather sucks).

Thanks guys.

So a blood house gets family honor for "wanton mayhem" but what exactly is wanton mayhem?
Placeus2012-09-23 21:46:10
Killing people who are not in enemy territory.

You must phrase your post in the form of a question... or an answer to an asked question?

That is already in the form of an answer to an asked question.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but why aren't all bookbinding/artisan items able to be sold in shops, like tailoring/jewelry? E.g. journals, books, and sofas. It just seems like it'd be much more convenient.
Ssaliss2012-09-25 21:05:32
The problem is that those items don't work the same way jewelry etc. work. Books can't be written in except by the person it was made for, and furniture has to be constructed on-site, AFAIK. Allowing them to be sold in shops would require recoding things, which is likely why it's not possible right now. I certainly wouldn't mind if it became possible though.

What I'd like is maybe for artisans to have the ability to construct miniatures of the item (kinda like the artifact miniatures you need to activate), once the miniature has been activated it stays there unless you deconstruct it (obviously you can only activate in your own manse or somewhere that you have privileges)
Enyalida2012-09-26 03:20:02
Yep, that would make the trades more viable commercially. It doesn't help that furniture is super-dooper expensive either.

Considering most of the artisan furniture (beds/thrones/etc) easily last for around half a year or longer, it is kind of to be expected. There is a very limited demand for Artisans.

Rocking Chair/Normal chair: 200 months
Hammock/Bed: 125 months
Chandelier/Throne: 600 months approx (so that is 1 throne/chandelier a little over every 1.5 IRL years, even without a stasis gem)
Drapes: 200+ months
Desk: unknown, but definitely 150+ months

You can sell books, and I personally have, but nobody actually buys them. Blank books that have someone else set as the author are useless, while books that have words in them already are not super popular items.

I see. Thanks for the answers, everyone. :)
Ssaliss2012-09-28 15:03:28
Hmm. If you have one runed pipe, what should you put in it?
Unknown2012-09-28 16:11:46
I'd personally put some faeleaf in it.
Esano2012-09-28 16:14:37
I did whatever allows you to cure hemiplegy. For Mags, at least, being able to smoke for hemiplegy while underwater stopped you from being griefed by tahtetso while doing sea battle quests. And also made you less likely to suffer the "you have two hemiplegy'd arms and so can't refill your pipe!" thing, which actually led to people carrying two (non-arti'd) pipes.

"The maximum essence that can ever be offered is 2,000,000,000 essence (offering a level 40 figurine with 10,000,000 esteem units is wasting 1,000,000,000 essence).

In order not to waste essence, either go for a max level figurine with 6,666,666 esteem units, or a level 20 figurine with max units."

This was said on the facebook group awhile go but I never got an answer to my question: Why/how is 1 billion essence wasted? or why is offering 1 billion essence (inside of 2) better? Surely the gods can't have an essence cap of under 2 billion, maybe?
Kagato2012-09-30 17:32:50
Because each figurine level gives a 5% bonus to the esteem-to-essence conversion, up to a maximum of 200% boost at level 40, this being before you add in any further bonuses such as venerations, miniaturisation, etc.

While I am not certain about this, the total maximum being set to 10 million was to allow for those who are lazy and can't be bothered levelling up their figurine before offering it.
Ssaliss2012-09-30 17:41:19
I think the limit of 10 million was more of a non-limit than a limit, heh. Figurines are far more expensive than needles were, after all.

And for the wasted, let me put it in numbers.

A figurine filled to the limit has 10m esteem in it. One esteem translates to 100 essence, so that one would give 1b essence without any modifiers.

Each level of a figurine adds 5%, starting at 10% at level 2 (so a level 1 doesn't get a boost from just being enchanted). A level 40 figurine would get a 200% boost, or a tripling of the essence, making it worth 3b essence. Since the cap is at 2b, 1b is wasted.

And yes, this is exactly what Kagato said. I just put numbers on it.

I think it has more to do with the maximum value a signed integer variable can hold.
