Short Questions: Three

It basically depends on their source. If the source is IC, then no. If the source is OOC, then yes. Personally, I'd say the wheel is IC, but only the admins can say for sure.
Rivius2011-11-21 12:30:47
I thought dingbats were always OOC?
Ixion2011-11-21 13:54:43
Nope, hence sticky DB.

Wayfaire is IC, wheel is IC, etc.
Kiradawea2011-11-21 16:07:21
You can't transfer wheel gifts to your alts if that's what you're asking, but you can sell unbound credits that you receive. Just don't violate the spirit of multiplaying.
Enyalida2011-11-21 20:49:45
@Rivius, for the purposes of player politics, everyone considers them ooc, because there isn't really any way to police it (even less then normal trading). As far as just straight up transferring them between your own characters, ehhhh.

Feels like an odd statement, since at least me (and apparently Ixion as well?) considers them IC. Doesn't matter if there's an effective way to police it or not; IC is IC and OOC is OOC. Would you transfer guild credits as well, because there's no real way to police it?
Unknown2011-11-21 22:03:28
No, you can't transfer prizes you get from the wheel between characters, since the wheel is more or less IC, it's similar to transferring credits bought from CFS between characters.

In fact, considering the nature of the wheel, why do you even need to ask, heh. To take it to the extreme, if this were allowed, what's stopping me from rolling 1000 alts, spinning the wheel, then transferring the good stuff to Shu?

When Dingbats were first released, I issued myself over transferring them between characters. I was told they were considered completely OOC, and as such can be freely transferred.

If they changed their minds, I certainly would have hoped an announcement would have been made about it. Or that we would otherwise be informed.
Ssaliss2011-11-21 22:25:47
Sounds odd for them to be different from credits in that regard, since they basically have the same function (i.e. buying arties). It could have been that they referred to the dingbats from buying credits though (which I believe was the only way to get dingbats back then?), which would be considered OOC (much like the credits are when you buy them from the website).
Enyalida2011-11-21 22:42:31
Credits are fully transferable between characters, even when won for events. If they aren't bound, no one cares.

There was a big hubbub about the tiered great hunts and this happening player side, but admins said it was okay to have a novice account win the (much easier) novice tier and transfer up to a character on a different tier.
Ssaliss2011-11-21 23:09:32
Uhm. Not according to HELP CREDIT TRANSFERS:
19.4.1 CREDIT TRANSFERS
To transfer credits to another person:

TRANSFER CREDITS TO FOR GOLD.

To give someone credits for free, specify 'FOR 0 GOLD.' If you
specify a positive number of gold though, the person will have
to be online, and will be asked to confirm that this transfer is
OK with him.

Violations of HELP SECONDS
--------------------------
Almost any aid or information that flows between two of your characters is a
violation of HELP SECONDS. You may have multiple characters. Just don't have
them help each other in any way.

The rule for credit transfers
-----------------------------
If you gain/acquire the credits in an In Character manner, then you cannot
transfer them between your seconds. If you gain credits in an Out of Character
manner, then you may transfer them freely.

IC ways to gain credits (can't transfer freely amongst seconds)
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Spend gold to purchase credits via the credit market.
- As a mentor.
- For various forms of leadership.

OOC ways to gain credits (which can then be transferred freely)
---------------------------------------------------------------
- Buy them for money on the Lusternia website, or via the mails.
- Win a Bardic/Artisanal contest.
- As a Guide.

Unless they're saying that the credits gotten during Great Hunts are OOC credits, which seem... silly.

Kayte:

Do we have a way to purchase refills directly to the rift?

I managed to do it, but it filled my rift slot to 2k sips, so beware. FILL RIFT FROM , I think the syntax was. And yes, it charged the correct amount of gold.

Lost in the ether. If it's something hard to replace and you know the letter number and ask nicely you might be lucky.

Apparently unmailed letters get returned to you after some very very long time. Just got two back yesterday.

You can also RIFT FILL FROM . Works the same way (i.e. calculates the correct amount of gold) and gives you better control.

Psh, I demand that everything be topped off so that I can forget about filling stuff for another millenium.

That's what they said /shrug.

What do the different types of doors in the manse shop do?

What do the different types of doors in the manse shop do?

They're only varying in degree of resistance to barging/doorblasting, with reinforced steel being impossible to bust open forcibly. There's no reason to bother with the different kinds unless the flavour of a given door material seems more suiting to you.
Sylphas2011-11-23 00:30:04
I use a reinforced for the entrance, the rest is walnut because it looks prettier, and I don't expect to ever have people knocking my doors down.

You need corresponding abilities in High Magic to learn those. I don't remember which ones.
