No one knoooooooows.

Except that last one. It literally just makes you not take the effects of drunkeness while having a high (hidden) drunk value, that factors in for things like brewmeister brews.

From what I've noticed:

1) Your tolerance increases at around "Totally sloshed" or "suicidally intoxicated".

2) Yes, you only get one hit of increased tolerance per RL day.

I've seen tolerance rise halfway through entirely inebriated several times but I'm sure I've noticed it go up before that point once too.

It seems to decrease the chance for drunk effects like dizziness and vomiting so you can get drunker before they strike. Looks like those tick with certain probabilities depending on your drunkeness, tolerance and resistance.

I've tested lots and lots, and fumbling chance seems to just relate to drunkeness. Tolerance and alcohol resistance don't decrease it.

Have we had any estimates yet for when the stockroom extender artifact will be released?

The only affect tolerance has upon drunkenness is that it makes it harder for you to get drunk in the first place. It doesn't directly affect the chance to fumble, get dizzy, or anything else.

This was a bit disappointing when I was a brewmeister.

I was a brewmeister dwarf with a Charm of the Clangoru. I found my best rate of benefits to putting-up-with-drunkenness was somewhere in the decidedly sloshed range. I would down enough absinthe to get me there, then use amberbeer/darkmalt as I bashed.

As my tolerance slowly increased, I noticed it took a few more sips of absinthe to get me to sloshed. I'd hoped it would reduce fumbling, or at least the more substantial effects of drunkenness. I suppose the only advantage is being able to more freely sip amberbeer and darkbrew once you're at sloshed without worrying too much about it making you too drunk to be worth it. It also would make the force-sip absinthe tactic less effective.

Overall though, tolerance isn't worth the trouble of intentionally keeping up, even moreso with the withdrawal mechanic starting to reduce total health somewhere between "able to out-drink dwarves" and "an unabashed alchoholic."

There is a very commonly available way to reduce the negative effects of being drunk. I don't think tolerance really needs to help, once players learn to take advantage of that.

You're referring to Dramatics Sober, I assume? Yeah, that one helps a lot (yay being suicidally intoxicated without any real threat, as long as you just sit still). And if you're referring to something else, I'm really curious about what :P
Iosai2011-12-17 18:18:00
Yes, that is what I was referring to. :)

One influencing tic now gives me 90 family honour. Do we still need to get at least 100 to avoid the obscurity decay?

It isn't that hard to get 2 influencing tics per weave. I get at least two myself, and we have around two or three other people gaining family honour for Nightshade.
Lilia2011-12-18 06:02:31
I'll be able to get it, it's just annoying. There's really only two of us getting honour for Shevat, so it feels like a huge obligation sometimes. And it's not per weave, it's per IG month.

So that's +1 hour!

How are these gnome things going to work? Can they just drop absolutely anywhere and you have to find them?
Ssaliss2011-12-20 13:02:34
Assuming they work the same as last year (and assuming they're even going to happen!), there'll be an announcement that gnomes have arrived. At that point, a bunch are dropped randomly all over Prime.
Aithera2011-12-20 14:34:58
If I remember right, they won't be in organizational territory.

Nope! No villages, no org territory.
