You'll generally be fine without. People die quick in mass combat to damage anyways.
Turnus2012-02-01 18:40:07
For bashing beast bodyguard is actually better. Since the rune is physical damage type only (I believe), whereas bodyguard is any type of npc attack.
Pretty sure anyways, if I'm wrong there I'm sure everybody will be more than glad to say so.

Nah, I think you're right on that. Regardless, RoA is just a "nice to have" in my opinion.

No, actually, you are right. I had it wrong for a while, but bodyguard really is better for bashing.

Beasts in your entourage receive experience along with you, as I understand it.
Does that mean they benefit from Harmony blessings?

RoA is rather lame for bashing, because most high level mobs have attacks that are partly or fully nonphysical. Beast Bodyguard is cheaper and better, so get that first for bashing. RoA does protect against Player attacks though, unlike Bodyguard, which only protects against mobs.

They just get a percentage of what you earn, so Harmony would help, yes.

RoA is lovely and procs against most things, but Bodyguard is still the way better option. I do <3 my RoA though!
Enyalida2012-02-02 22:22:15
Well, I mean. 'Most things' being blunt or cutting damage, sure.
Rivius2012-02-02 23:14:17
As far as PvP goes, it helps A LOT against monks.

Question for formatting a scroll. I was thinking of having a table at the upper right of a help scroll, with text flowing around it from the left. Do people use anything other than wrapwidth 80 (in their config or their client)?
Ssaliss2012-02-03 02:21:44
I don't think it matters; it automatically formats it down to 80 (or if it was even less).
EDIT: It seems to wrap at 72.

Yes. Everyone (*almost) does. Usually wrapwidth 0.
However, HELP files and books are hard-coded to wrapwidth 80 right now. Nobody can adjust that. So, enjoy!

I can't remember but are bardic contest credits considered OOC-gained i.e. transferable to alts? Just wondering.

Yes.
Naia2012-02-04 00:26:17
Contest credits are regular non-bound credits. You could sell them on the market if you really wanted to.
Ssaliss2012-02-04 00:37:22
There's a difference between OOC and IC credits, though. OOC credits can be transferred between alts, while IC can't. For instance, if you buy guild credits on one character, you cannot transfer it to another.
Unknown2012-02-04 08:52:22
A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself "Is there any any way that I could use this transaction as part of a scheme to transfer gold/lessons from one character to another?"
If the answer is yes, it's probably not allowed. If the answer is no, it's probably fine.
So, for example, buying guild credits with gold, transfering them to an alt and then having your alt sell them is bad. Doing the same with bardic credits is fine, though, since you're not shifting ICly earned resources between characters.

How many trains are pets supposed to have? What level are they?
And are upgraded beasts supposed to keep all thier reactions that they had when they were just a beast?
*eyes stag beetle suspicously*

Pets should be able to get 800 trains (basic beast: 600, collared beast: 700). They should also permanently be level 13.
