Pets can have as many trains as you can (or want to) afford. If you buy the 900 credit upgrade instead of just the 500 credit one, you get an additional 150, for a base total of 950. After that, you can upgrade/add for one credit per train. Kikikoru doses are retrainable trains. Everything else is inherent trains. It does make a difference in beast stats and flexibility, so it's worth calculating out before upgrading.

He's level 12, won't learn more than 700 skills, does staggy reactions, and won't obey my pet commands. I don't actually mind it. The stag rections are cute and I don't have anything else I really need to teach him. Heh. But I'm not sure if I'm meant to bug it or e-mail artifacts@lusternia.com.

You concentrate on curing your own insanity ailments.
You suddenly feel your touch with reality weaken.
You suddenly feel your touch with reality strengthen.

Does this just negate itself, or is there at least some benefit gained overall? It's difficult to tell.

You suddenly feel your touch with reality weaken.

As far as I can tell, the above doesn't actually increase your insanity, or so little it doesn't matter. The whole ability is pretty lackluster considering there is an artifact that cuts insanity gain in half, and one of Healing's highest abilities doesn't seem to do much at all.
Shulamit2012-02-06 20:10:14
Curing someone elses insanity does increase your insanity, but not by a lot. I've cured a couple people in a row, and wound up as neurotic, and I never went near anywhere that would make me that. It's just....a very small amount. (I had to heal at least four people before it showed up as neurotic, I think)

Bug #2039 Resolution: You can see your current esteem units offered via
ACHIEVEMENT STATS. You currently appear to have offered 11845 units.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------
Offering achievements. I've been offering more than 100k in esteem, though have
not accomplished any achievements according to the list.

I.. don't understand? So does this mean I have to offer 100k -figurines- to get an achievement? o.o
Razenth2012-02-06 20:19:45
Maybe esteem units doesn't translate 1 to 1 with essence?
Ssaliss2012-02-06 20:19:48
Essence!=esteem. You need to offer 100k units of esteem, not 100k essence from esteem.

EDIT: Also, if you check ACHIEVEMENT STATS, you can see how much esteem you've offered. It's the last line.

No. You offer the esteem units you've imbued on the figurine. These units are not the same as essence offered.

The achievements go by the ESTEEEM UNITS you have offered, not by the essence you have offered.

EDIT: Ha, big pile of ninja
Enyalida2012-02-06 20:24:39
Someone simple math it: Old needles did about 67k (yeah?) for 655 units. I think it's the same.
Ssaliss2012-02-06 20:26:03
Old needles did 65536 (or 65535?) essence. However, this is increased by several factors, like the size of the godrealm, meaning it was generally more than 65535 essence from a needle.
Enyalida2012-02-06 20:34:14
Having a bigger realm meant your offerings were increased... allowing you expand your realm faster? 0_o
Ssaliss2012-02-06 20:35:22
Still does, AFAIK. It's not by much though; I think Eventru gets 16% more or some such? It's been a long time since I saw the numbers, so that could easily have changed though.
Unknown2012-02-06 20:55:21
Bigger god realms also means that influencing the godrealm denizens generates more essence. I think the bonus on that is an extra 10+ per room or so.

Figurines also boost essence generated via offering based on level, so yeah... there's a lot of factors that can enhance essence per unit generated.

Positive feedback power loops in Lusternia? Never! ;)
Lilia2012-02-06 20:55:45
Going by factors on the figurine alone (ignoring godrealm bonus, divine tattoos, etc.) the formula is esteem*100*(1+(.05*level)) = essence. Increasing the essence from a figurine does nothing to effect the amount of esteem you've actually offered, and that's what matters for the achievements.
Ssaliss2012-02-06 21:17:44
The above formula is true except in those cases where level==1. Level 1 does not generate 5% extra; it starts at 10% at level 2.

Yes, I am nitpicky sometimes. Apologies for that.
Unknown2012-02-07 07:43:02
It's also 65535 1/3 essence per 100% esteem of the old system, so you get 65536 every 3 needles ;)

edit: oops, replied to a redundant post. Will post properly shortly

How necessary are Great Runes of Influence if you do a lot of denizen influencing? (Especially if you're an aslaran with no intention of getting a cameo.)
