You shouldn't generally be doing your bashing or influencing on any bubble, if you aren't in one of the factions that has all the bubblixes/aetherrings. You're generally just setting yourself up to be ganked, unless you are really careful/slippery. You should, however, go do the undervault stuff, or places like Caverns.

What? Unlike. Unless you're talking about being a Glom on Moon or a Seren on Night, or someone who is actively defiling a shrine, or someone who deserves it enough that people are actively looking for you, people are very rarely harassed while on bubbles.

The reason so many people like nexus guards is because there is generally a great number of them in essentially one place, and it is pretty easy to auto-influence them.

Unless you are an active combatant, or are otherwise important in your org, in which case watch your back.

I still disagree. I'm not saying it doesn't happen ever, but outside of specific conflicts, aetherbubbles are so far removed from the general population that it tends to be very live and let live in my experience.

In all the time I have been playing, I have never once been ganked on a bubble.
Razenth2012-02-11 21:06:19
I was once!

And once I was working with someone from the other side in a quest and Mal came and ganked them. Awks.
Enyalida2012-02-11 21:16:58
I've been ganked several times across several characters... As Enya I've been hit at least three times, I think more attempted, but I ran back to my ship.

Never been attacked on a bubble while bashing. Can only recall two people who I'd ever seen kill people on bubbles and that's Veyrzhul and Malarious, the former being a bit inactive at this time.

Scrying mirror. Happens often enough. Heck, I recall one incident someone was telling me about recently enough. Even if you're not an active combatant, I'd still have a quick escape ready :P

It's also a question of it being worth it when you evaluate how much time it takes to get out to the bubble. Crumkindivia is great, but it's rather small and may not be worth it if your org doesn't have the spire. Cankermore almost certainly isn't, It's not a real problem travelling if you have a bubblix, but without it, I wouldn't recommend flying to aetherbubbles just to hunt or influence, except maybe Bottledowns and Frosticia.

Especially when there are so many great areas on prime. Tosha is simply great for influencing.

I found flying to Frosticia and Crumkindivia to be a pretty good use of time. It only takes 2-3 minutes to fly to either if you know what you're doing, since they're so close to the cities. Never really had any problems on the bubbles, either. Had Veyrzhul jump me a couple times as retribution for raiding Celestia (I think that was why), but he just got his one kill and then backed off, which is a pretty damn fine way of handling it IMO.
Rika2012-02-12 02:44:24
Veyrzhul is Veyrzhul :P

I don't remember anyone else ever caring enough to gank me on an aetherbubble.
Enyalida2012-02-12 02:47:13
I've gotten Sidd, Shuyin, and (I think) Inagin. I ran around on Fac like a chicken with my head cut off because I forgot to write down the vnum of the dock and hate the stupid exits there.
Naia2012-02-12 06:58:49
If people dislike you on a personal level, you will get ganked anywhere off prime. The average person on a bubble has nothing to worry about.

EDIT: just want to apologise as that was a general comment based on my own (mostly non-lusternian) pvp experiences and not necessarily directed at the post immediately above mine.
Enyalida2012-02-12 07:03:57
How pleasant.
Enyalida2012-02-14 00:35:03
What's the deal with statues tuned against everyone in public (non-org territory) places?

I could have sworn that in the past people were told (by admins)to knock that off, and to only tune public statues personally, so that they would have to respect avenger, but apparently that's not a thing? Does anyone else remember an incident like that?
Naia2012-02-14 01:02:21
Which statues? They might be leftovers from seal events.
Unknown2012-02-14 01:03:56
Nope. They've never said not to.

Simple question: Wut.

One or two light fluffy clouds drift lazily through the sky. On the wind, a scent is carried of fried potatoes and strong seasonings. A community of bipedal moles waddles slowly about, squinting and muttering as they go. Four of these furry fellows are sitting with a deck of very large cards, playing a game. The numbers on the cards are so exaggeratingly large, they can read them from here. Looking in towards the centre of town, the odd shelters, trees, huts, houses, hedges, and hovels continue in one great ordered chaos, nearly to the Pool of Stars.

From a Celest room description.

I remember that too but I can't point to where. I don't think it was in news, though, or anywhere official. However, there was a sort of gentleman's agreement about not doing things that screwed up novices, for the sake of the growth of Lusternia, which lasted for about five years.
Unknown2012-02-14 12:37:07
Well, we did have them for chaos.

Regardless, I think it's a bad thing to be doing. Maybe if it were possible to isolate certain "groups" (Read: Novices) it would not be so bad.
