War is a full 10(?)% buff, while Knowledge is just a +2(?) intelligence buff. At higher levels of Int, the effect of more diminishes. War is, therefore, a better blessing to keep.

EDIT: Erm, I didn't notice how long it's been. Damn you tabs.
Unknown2012-04-26 21:25:12
Those numbers are good to know. I had always thought that the stat blessings were +1 weight.

On a similar note, how is bardic damage boost (EngineWords, DarkHeat, etc.) calculated? I did a very bad test recently (getting hit once without it, once with it) and only noticed an increase of 15 damage.

Should be +10%, outside of dmp.

EDIT: May have gotten a regen tick right as it hit. This does happen on occasion.

Bodyscan buffs shows it as an 8dmp increase

If someone levels from 99 to demigod during a greathunt, do the points they have collected get bumped automatically into the next bracket up, or do they still get credit for the previous bracket?
Unknown2012-04-28 17:30:19
Previous greathunts have meant that you will find yourself in the newly gained bracket.

That said, there was a bit of whining going on, owing to people repeatedly killing themselves to remain in the lower-tier bracket. So far as I am aware, however, nothing was ever changed.
Iosai2012-04-28 17:45:43
This Greathunt will remember your starting bracket and that will be your permanent place in the competition.

I'll be reviewing the scores and results at the end of the event to determine whether or not Greathunts should track increases but ignore decreases (ie, a person can start at level 58 and be in Tier 3, level up to 65 during the hunt and join Tier 2, but then be ineligible to rejoin Tier 3 even if he drops his level below 60 again).

Can greathunt credits be considered IC, so transferring them to alts would be punishable by, at minimum, deletion of the credits?

This has been the greatest source of abuse thus far, that every time transfers are allowed and so people roll up alts specifically to cheat actual lowbies who play those characters out of the rewards.
Unknown2012-04-28 20:23:40
They are gained ICly, so I strongly suspect you wont be able to transfer.
Unknown2012-04-28 20:27:50
Nah, they're considered OOC. I've won a greathunt once and transferred to my main to abuse it myself.
Enyalida2012-04-28 20:29:41
I agree that it should be changed, though.

Draylor:

They're gained IC but they're treated as OOC; it's been issued every time they do a great hunt and they always say a transfer is a-okay.

I don't get why, but it is allowed.
Enyalida2012-04-28 20:39:24
It is rather odd. I always thought that the idea behind the hunts was that the gods (mostly Estarra) is rewarding those mortals who hone their power, to prompt them to keep themselves sharp for the resurgence of the soulless. That's a totally IC thing! Just make the credits bound.
Xenthos2012-04-28 20:56:50
I'd love it if they were bound too, but I think they want the rewards to be available for sale... so, just ensuring that they aren't transferred to alts would seem to be the best solution. More overhead, sure, but a simple declaration that it is a Bad Thing and will be monitored should dissuade the bulk of the abuse!
Unknown2012-04-28 21:32:49
In view of the above comments, I would hazard a guess and make the following statement:

100% of those people in the bottom tier are alts.
Xenthos2012-04-28 22:25:37
Am I bashing with an alt right now..?

The world will never know.

Edit: Unless the world scries me. Cheaters.

Blah, you're probably just doing it because you know this late in you won't stand a chance of catching up to Kelly *grin*

This, if I had any desire to try to win, heh. Great Hunts just destroy my will to log on if I compete.
Kagato2012-04-29 02:08:17
To be honest, the way I'm going, this will be the first time since I started playing that I actually got a respectable placing in an event *glares at Shinza and Helaman steamrolling through and taking 1st and 2nd place*

(Its a pain taking on 95th+ circle people at only 88th circle, I've been almost constantly working but they just keep widening the gap due to the sheer fact that they can hunt at a MUCH faster rate)
Kagato2012-04-29 10:40:28
Don't people ever SLEEP? It's been like a tag-team almost the entire time, I have one person back off while mantaining my lead and then someone else tries to close the gap on me =p I'll be a little glad when this event is over, though I will miss the experience boost, I've gained almost 3 full circles from this one event.
