Do any of the player communities use the DIPLOMACY settings? I went to the Hall of Records and all the stats were something along the lines of "not set yet". How do I "activate" them for player communities, and the NPC communities?

For NPC diplomacy you need to use amnesty the same as always "politics

Turnus:
For NPC diplomacy you need to use amnesty the same as always "politics" works on npc groups and says who the leader is. For player orgs, old enemy statuses are like that - you need to get somebody in the org to set it. Honestly, probably half the time you get enemied no fine is going to be given and you still need to actually talk to somebody to get a fine set.
Thought that might be the case. Thank you.

And, in the case of Xenthos, if you see a fine, it's a trap.

Player orgs usually use it for newer enemyings but not many have gone back to set them for all the old enemyings from before it was instituted. In many cases no one even remembers the reason.

Well, newer enemy statuses often use notes and so on extensively, but fines are very rarely automatically set. Or set at all until someone decides you shouldn't be an enemy anymore!

I tried a project in the Moondancers to bring our diplomacy notes up to date and unenemy anyone we couldn't remember a reason for. It fell through since I didn't have the time to see it through all by myself and no one else really cared.
Lendren2012-05-07 10:59:16
I thought in the Moondancers if no one remembered, the reason was "Laysus".

Because fines aren't just a diplomatic tool, they're a way of life?

Tetra, the Flash Sword (Female Reclusive Demigoddess).
What does the reclusive come from?
And don't say 'She likes to be alone'. >.>

She desires solitude.
(It's one of the new demi powers. I forget what it's called. Each org has their own demigod flavour title things.)

I dropped in and see lots of changes...
Are tae'dae knights a good/viable race now? Trackers vs. necromancers?
How effective is autocuring?
How hard is it to pick up cavalier and what is it like?

Should be able to pull off tae'dae cavalier, since tae are now down to lv1 balance penalty, and they get native weapon stat bonus to help counter that a little too.
Autocuring is sip/sparkle/scroll really, so a system would still be better most of the time. It doesn't autocure afflictions for you.
Cavalier looks fun. I don't think the quest is very hard to do either.

It's rather simple, but seemingly designed to make sure you aren't a newbie, and know how to both help your city/commune and maintain a beast.
Ssaliss2012-05-14 14:16:56
For bashing, autocuring is actually really nice in that it A) ignores lag, B) never heals more than needed, and C) stays with you in the case of a DC. For combat, though, it's probably better to use a real system.

I'm just gonna point out that it is very amusing that the "simplest" fighting style to learn is the only one that requires a quest.
There's a reason Ashigaru and Peasant soldiers used spears after all :P

Spear isn't an option. Also the quest is for the bonding of Warrior to Mount, not for using the weapons.

Ahh. Well that makes more sense.
