No problem. I'm afraid that horses and ponies are as cheap as they go.

What is the command to put an empty space between things? I know there is one, and one day I'll write it down so I don't have to keep asking. It's just so hard to follow with everything running together, I like a break between.

Took me a minute to figure out what you meant.

CONFIG PROMPT ADD LINEBREAK
Noola2012-08-14 03:03:43
Thanks! And sorry.

I wasn't sure what to call it. I didn't want to say 'paragraph breaks' because sometimes it's not paragraphs.

Also, with the Cavalier Steed ability, do you need to have the associated abilities (trotting, galloping, and kicking) in Beastmastery to use them?
Enyalida2012-08-14 03:39:30
Yes

A conversation made me curious which muds had the most players these days, and how many players muds have in general. Anyway that brought me to arrdwolf which on paper has the most (I didn't really notice that many people when I tried it.) But I did notice that they give out a version of mushclient that is tailored for their game. I was wondering if anyone knew why Lusternia doesn't / can't do that as well

Myrkr:

Probably in part population issues, the other part that they (or at least Hallifax) hasn't aligned themselves with either the Illithoid or the Kephera yet.

Hallifax already has a kephera tutor in its collegium (Gaudiguch has an illithoid tutor), so the cities have more or less been 'assigned' their alignments already.

Silly question, but how do I change a ring to become a wedding band?
There's no specific "pattern" for a ring for wedding band, but there is one for just a normal ring-type.
Shulamit2012-08-14 13:27:57
If it's a matter of type, I think it would be design number type weddingband.

(that is, just summon up a normal ring pattern, and change the type)
Anita2012-08-14 13:31:28
design 18301 type weddingband
You may not set this craft type to weddingband.

This is what I'm getting when I try to do it, though.

EDIT: How missing a single letter changes things,

design 18301 type weddingbands
An elegant ring set with a black opal is now type Weddingbands.

Thanks Shulamit!

Yeeeeah, I'm not going to get into the "on paper" bit - but if you're going by the TMS rankings, I've very little faith in them or their standings as a reflection of who actually votes.

I'm not sure a "Lusternia mudlet client" would be particularly useful - out web client is pretty great, and has all the stuff one could need to get into. Unless you mean they give out a full-fledged system?

(fyi, I wasn't going by mud ranking but rather by the reported number of players. Aardwolf had some 500 players. The next largest muds were "adult themed" ones with about 300 players each, and then they sort of trickled down from there. With a max of 6,000 players shown between all the muds together.)

There are three benefits I noticed from the downloadable client they give out.

1. They claim it reduces server usage, and so they give extra points to people who use GCMP(sp?) capable clients.

2. They have both a flash client and a downloadable one. But since the downloadable one is obviously so much better, the community has tons of tools and work devoted to that client. The player base coders who are able to help and build tools are less spread around.

3. They don't give out a "system", because that sort of mud really doesn't need it. But they do give out lots of fancy windows to view your stats, and map walkers, and tutorials within the client that help you learn things about the game in a easy user experience.

I was wondering if there was some legal reason that Lusternia couldn't do such a thing. I know the whole "system-centric" view of clients is a big reason not to get started.

How much of a bonus does Miniaturize give to offering?
