As you know, we're running a dingbat promotion this month! In a few days, we will probably replace the dolls with a new set of dolls. We are also looking at converting some of the auction artifacts to dingbat artifacts. Do you have any suggestions for what auction artifacts you think would be good candidates? For that matter, do you have any suggestions for dingbat artifacts that you'd like to see?

Is there a list of the old auction artifacts somewhere for those of us with bad memories? Also, any new dolls?

Edit2: After looking through the items in the last auction, the Focus rune without a doubt! Perhaps instead of a rune it could be a more dingbatty themed item.

I think the focus and planar rune should become dingbat arties, both aren't particularly unbalancing, and there's already precedent for dingbat items that are simply permanent enchants (yoyo, surfboard, etc).

If you want a high priced dingbat item, I bet most demigods would like the divine manna to become available.

I wouldn't mind the censers or mass rune too though >_>

Dingbats are more whimsical. Those seem like credit artifacts.

Well if you want whimsical, how about the watering can and the flute of winds then

I was looking at those. Also the scythe (which would be one of the more expensive dingbat items).

While it wasn't in the auction, how about a dingbat item to give the changeself ability in illusions? Appearing as another race is fairly whimsical!

Some old ideas of mine from other threads:

-Graven Brazier of the Ancients : Similar to Pneumatic Hookah, though allows for combinations of flowers and oils to be transformed into grains or cones of incense which can then be burned in the brazier. In addition to roomwide scent emote, can provide increased potency/effectiveness of worn influencing oils (BLESS with INCENSE). Requires flowers, coal and/or oil commodities.

-Everlasting Amber Varnish : When applied, makes paintings permanent objects and moveable (ie- you want to exhibit your favourite painting in a different room in your manse) Can include enchanted paintings, but only in manses.

-Dowsing Rod: Creates a water environment in a manse room can swim or dive

-Miniature Cactus/ Beach Ball: Creates a desert/sandy beach environment in a manse room

-Barqueno/Varqueno of the Wandering Scribe: A portable desk for writing and paper storage.

-Jugglies: Customizable to whatever you wish to juggle, (ie. lobsters, oranges, hamsters,) can change once a lusternian day. Various messages on success of juggling.
EDIT: custom includes short desc and long desc, but with a limit of character/lines.

-Postmaster's Bell: Allows for custom delivery message for manse post offices. (like bats/owls/wakabi/harried trill/orb that the cities/communes have)

- Pilgrim's Badge: Touch to customize to your Order, instant teleport to your God's Fulcrux

- Florist's Ribbon: Allows you to make a bouquet, boutonniere, corsage, wreath, circlet or lei out of flowers to give to friends. Bouquets can be TOSSED. Wreaths can be EXIBITted with Arts exhibit. All other types can be worn like normal flowers. (Types that can be used: Rose, Lily, Poppy, Carnation, Freesias, Skybloom, Kouseki, Lotus, Orchid, Iris, Iceflower etc). Use: ARRANGE (flower) (bouquet/circlet/etc). Ex. ARRANGE (twilight blue rose) bouquet = A bouquet of twilight blue roses. or Arrange lavender skybloom boutonniere = A lavender skybloom boutonniere

-Puzzler's Pack/Satchel: 100 item slow decay capacity pack that locks and unlocks with a special combination of actions/ random for each owner. (I.e. You close your satchel allowing the complicated fastenings to snap into place, sealing it. You poke your satchel and the complex fastenings shift and move beneath your touch. You tug the fastenings on your satchel. They snap into place and it opens!)

- Snoefaesia (sp?) Skates: Ice skates that allow you to walk over icey rooms without slipping/reduces chance of slipping.

- Themed Marionettes
- Jack in the box type item that you can crank and randomly chooses a person to **Boo!** at
- Pinata that you can fill, chance of Czgainy coin
- Themed snowglobes
- Dartboard manse miniature with a clearable scoreboard
- A hatbox with random silly hats to wear
-Jewel dragon that randomly slithers around the wearer's body to become an earring/necklace/bracelet/armband/anklet/ring/belt/mantle

- Charter of Thespis- Manse artifact that allows for a customizable stage and backstage room to be built.
- Vaboz's Apiary/Honey Jar- Generates tasty honeycombs each month
- Brilliant Bonzai Planter - Allows planting of apples, lemons, acorns/moonhart nuts and powderfruit to produce a small tree of the same. Gives 1-2 fruits a month, edible.
- Charm Bracelet: can hold a number of collectible ambient charms that are released each lusternian year

Here's my stuff again:


Beastmaster spurs - halves the time it takes to mount a beast. If you have vault, vaulting costs no balance.
-Minimap - catacombs map for the user only, doesn't take entourages (player, etc), stopped by distort.
-flux capacitor - speeds up the rate at which linking node/nexus gets you power. Maybe have it work for cone/starlink/whatever too.

-Manse beacon - manse artie that allows you to teleport to your manse, needs same plane.
-Beastmaster's whistle - allows you to whistle beasts and they will come to you from any plane/bubble. No more need to beast dismiss and beast summon again. Halves eq time from whistling too.
-Omnitalkie - gives you the broadcast skill in planar and lets you talk from anywhere in Lusternia, bubbles too.

-Alchemist's pocketwatch - lets you sprinkle salt/sulfur for free (free = neverending, still takes bal/eq).
-Gnomish Alarmclock - increases the rate you recover from tiredness by sleeping.
-Crumkane's cookie - a cookie that you can eat over and over and over for some sustenance.

I really, really, really want the beastmaster's items (spurs/whistle), or something like that. As is, no one bothers staying mounted

I still want something that lets you store blank canvases, blank sketch sheets, vellum, and the like (raw paperworks) without decay, up to a maximum amount of 50-100 or so items.

For those wishing for a listing of past auction artifacts, here you go. For new toys, I particularly liked Shuyin's ideas - though especially if the flux capacitator would let non-coners cone too. The spurs, minimap and omnitalkie are all awesome as well. I also liked the mention of the juggling toy, since I thought that was cute.

As for existing artifacts, I, too, would like the severing scythe and the focus rune added to general availability. Likewise, from older auctions, the Magic Chisel for its utility. I still really, really, want this to come about, just like the Silver Spoon did, for the enchanting I end up doing. For combat, I would adore that Illusion Mastery rune.

I want a beastmastery saddle item or something that decreases the chance of me being knocked out of it, or allows me to stay mounted in certain situations where otherwise I wouldn't be.

I also really want the catacombs map, but I understand we might see it as a credit item or an auction item in the future. Can we please have the herb transplanting pot, though?

*twiddle* New dingbat arties, and I'm buying credits this month. So hopefully new artifacts that make my purchase worthwhile.

While I don't use my flute of winds as much as I should, I enjoy the feeling having something only one other person has at this time. Making it into a artifact (dingbat or otherwise) would make me a bit sad

While I enjoy seeing being able to buy the Divine Mark, I much rather see this as a normal credit artifact.

That's how I felt about the Doctoral Cord, and before that, the Great Rune of Musical Enhancement.

Don't suppose the Drums of Kiakoda would be a suitable contender? It'd be nice to have a chance at them that didn't depend on whether someone else didn't have anything in their life preventing staying up until 4am on a weekday.

(Wonder if they'd let me customize it to be a hexagonal drum...)

If censers aren't, not sure how drums would be...

Things like doctoral cords, runes of Divine Manna, endowments, etc. shouldn't be limited to just a select few though (and two of three of those I picked up from auctions myself!)
