Divine grace is something that has really annoyed me for the longest time. I can understand having maybe a minute worth of grace after an arena event or a village revolt ends so you don't keep attacking after the revolt/spar. And with the chance to heartstop a minute worth of grace do keep you from doing a double heartstop.
But what is the point of having grace that lasts long enough for people to walk around being annoying and laugh while graced? It seems like the only use for grace is to walk into enemy territory and laugh at the enemy while hiding behind grace and it doesn't really offer much of anything in return. Even when I'm graced it pisses me off since I end up going into a fight and realizing after the fight starts "Oh, I'm graced, I need to renounce it".
There wasn't anything in specific that prompted this, just a long simmering hatred of grace really.
So in short. Is grace needed anymore? I think at most a minute of grace is more than enough time to def up and run back into the fray, and there's no real need to have longer grace, except for abuse.

I'd say a minute, maybe two at most. I think grace is still needed, if only to prevent people from being farmed (and I'm sure someone will find a way to do it if it is at all possible).

Grace is fine. You can't actually do anything while graced, and you go off equi when you renounce. If someone's non-violence is bothering you that much, you can either dispatch guards to deal with them, walk away, or snub them.

Can't dispatch guards on ethereal :( .

If someone who died is using their time graced to hurl insults, that seems like a pretty good indication that you beat them.

They CAN effect combat while graced. For instance, using POINT CLEANSE < is possible under grace. Dropping or picking up sigils also is possible, as is grabbing corpses (?). Can you still debate from under grace? Shorter grace is something I'm in support of, or some of the earlier suggestions included having grace not allow you to enter enemy territory.

Guys, guys, remember, grace abuse is not possible.
But to actually be constructive, people can also use grace to get through demesne/blockades at the entrance to an area to rejoin their group, usually with Domoth's on aetherbubbles. Some more restrictions on what you can do and maybe the time would be nice.
Bring it up in the report thread for Shuyin's list? Though it's not really a major issue, though it has been around FOREVER.

I'd say keep grace, but perhaps review what can and can't be done under it. However, things you remove may possibly backfire, so it's tricky.

Grace is needed, for basic reprieve against things like being jumped right out of the arena.
Innocence is the only permanent grace. If a newbie is talking smack behind innocence, trolling you and your org with insults behind the veil of safety, it may well be considered harrassment. Issues, speaking to guides, talking to the newbie-troll's City/Commune are all possible solutions which have a fair chance of curbing such behaivior. It is hoped that most of lusternia's player leaders are able and willing to correct such egregrious behaivior when reported to them.
All non-innocence grace should definitely not be permanent, and should possibly last a significantly shorter time than it does now. It's 5mins or so now, right? 1 min is reasonable, I think. For certain "abusable" situations, getting the admin to put in auto-grace stripping may be a good idea. For example, in an unpeaced revolt, they could make anyone who walks in with grace gets it stripped automatically.
Whether or not they take the suggestion and actually implement it is another story, of course, but that's my suggestion at least.

I agree a minute is reasonable time for grace. Though I don't really think its a "major concern" that needs to go on Shuyin's Super Special Report. More of an annoyance that I've had steadily grow over the years.

The bolded is false, as grace automaticly drops (or is supposed to) when you enter enemy territory. They could probably expand it to make grace dispell the moment you transverse, enter an open village etc.
Incidently the one place I want grace doesn't give it (my fleshmound when they are attacking the fleshpot there, really annoying to die 5 times cause you respawn there and the only way to turn it off is to be quick enough to remove all flesh)

You are 100% wrong, grace never drops on entering enemy territory. You get grace when your mound revives you, that was announced as a change awhile ago.
I would love to see grace begin to fade upon entering enemy territory or leaving prime (this auto fade does not begin if you got grace off prime). Make it a minute tops in general, and like 10s after entering enemy territory.
