Zarquan:
Sounds... creepy. :D
:P pshh... And how is it any different than the historical families with denizen relatives out there too?
Unknown2011-11-03 17:00:27
This one would be created by you, of course!
Kiradawea2011-11-03 17:13:20
The amount of credits there though, it be staggering. It's over ten thousand, and it's not even the last day of the auction. I wonder how many credits it'll end up selling for. Enough to keep the entire IRE realms going for the next year maybe? >.>

@zarquan
Exactly, so new history to be made! Now that I think about it... Wouldn't it be nifty if founding a new family could grant you one IG denizen? /derail

Actually Eventru, it was you who gave me hope in your initial post back in the spring.

Emphasis on Right Now...I took that as a hint of possible future, which is why I invested...
Of course, talking about things like this tends to jinx it, so I'll shut up now...
I said "right now" because the future is always indeterminate.
The likelihood of a Prime->AnyOtherPlaneButEthereal gate (or any variation thereof) is very small. Nexuses are the only things known to function that way, as far as I can remember.

So clearly we need to make random nexii across the Basin for our plane-traversing fun-times.

Astra stakes to anchor the basin after a dastardly plan to throw prime drifting in aetherspace/the void.

..isn't that what it's doing already? Kind of sort of maybe?
Enyalida2011-11-05 01:57:11
No, I mean giant harpoons that (in addition to the nexii), align all the planes from end to end to prevent drift. Not entirely a serious suggestion.

Do we have any details on the Private Stage? I assume it is similar to the other stages except that it's controlled by the manse owner.
Can you buy other plays from other people?
Can you submit plays to the World Stage?

You cannot buy other plays that were performed on other stages (though nothing to stop you from buying it from someone and putting on your own performance!).
You cannot submit plays to the World Stage.
It's basically a private stage where you can perform and record plays to put on in your manse.

We just added a new auction (auction 42):
Ever ream about owning an inn at the Ackleberry junction? A manse in the blasted land? A private island in the Inner Sea? Now's your chance! We've never offered anything like this before!
One building in the Basin of Life that can be placed anywhere within reason (subject to admin approval). This building would be 10 rooms; however, it would not be a manse--you would only have one shot to lay it out and describe it. This includes 1 magic door which only you can open (it could either be the entry into the building or deeper in the building if you want part of it open to the public). If you own the building and wish to buy manse artifacts for it (shops, denizens, etc.), that will be allowed, though you will need to contact the admin to set them up. However, you will -not- be able to add more rooms to this building (except a stock room if you purchase a shop upgrade). THIS IS NOT A MANSE AND CANNOT BE CONVERTED INTO A SHIP.

Hey that's pretty awesome.
Kiradawea2011-11-05 18:27:27
So how quickly until people start bidding 10k credits for it?
Unknown2011-11-05 19:04:29
W-would it count for exploration credit. o_o
Unknown2011-11-05 19:14:56
Oh, private island hadn't thought of that one.
I will win it, fill it full of dinosaur manse dwellers, and then invite a druid, a celestine, a paradigmatics expert, and a few others to come and tell me why it is doomed to failure.
Then some fat researcher from Seinfield will screw it all up for everyone anyway.
Freaking Hallifax.

I'm not fat, so I'm afraid I can't help you.
Rivius2011-11-05 20:28:31
Oh man, I wish I had the credits :( That's an amazing auction.
Rika2011-11-05 20:39:37
Hey Xenthos, now's your chance to empty that pool of credits you have!
Unknown2011-11-05 21:03:50
The thing with it is, it's cool, and unique. But on the other hand, it is essentially a riskier, more limited, less secure manse.
On the one hand, "omg, a set of rooms in the actual geography of the game." On the other hand, beyond that, if you put a shop in it, or anything else, it would essentially be a location that would probably suffer even more than the org prime shops do now. Unless, like, Candyshop or Pack or one of the biggies moved ALL their inventory there and didn't use the aether shop at all.
On the one hand, it would be a really unique and interesting thing to have. On the other- it would be a really unque and interesting thing to grief.
Mostly, the idea of it is neat to me. I'm anxious to see what the winner does with it.
