Edit: Need to fix this with the information from below, come back later

Level 1:
10,000,000 esteem = 10,000,000 essence. = 152.588 needles
Level 2:
1,102,500,000 essence = 16822.814 needles

I don't think leveling a figurine once multiplies it's value by 110.25x...
I THINK it adds 2.5% per level. That was my understanding
Sakr2011-11-02 20:31:35
I heard that the end result was 43 billion essence, level 1 is worth no bonus, so it's:
10 million (39) (x) = 43 billion essence. X is then 110.25 for this equation to work.
Unknown2011-11-02 20:37:26
That's flatly insane. You MUST have heard wrong. Why on earth would that make leveling a figurine ONCE multiply it's value 100+x while leveling it from 2->40 only multiplies it a further 40x. That's silly.
Enyalida2011-11-02 20:40:58
it's a 5% bonus to offering for every level you get after 1. So at level two, you have a 5% bonus. At level three, it's 10% and so on.

The actual esteem in the figurine doesn't change at all either. It just has a flag on it that applies the bonus right at the time of offering. So, at level 40, you have a total of a 195% bonus (right?) which means a figurine that has 10mil esteem offers as if it was 19.5mil.

If you want to figure out a price, don't bother with total amounts. 100% of old esteem is 655 units. If you sold an old needle for 10000 gold, that's ~16 gold per unit of esteem (10000/655). So, there you go. A fair amount to sell per unit is about 16 gold. If that's on a level 40 figurine intended for offering, the value of each unit of esteem goes up by 195% to ~30. Of course, getting a figurine that high is very expensive, so you tack on a material cost, but that's not part of the flat cost of esteem.

Friend got a level 40 figurine and tested it out. The end result of the math was a 4300x increase in essence versus the 10 million esteem value for a level 40 miniature.
Unknown2011-11-02 20:45:07
Has anyone else tested with a leveled miniature who can confirm this insane boost?
Iosai2011-11-02 20:49:09
Let me clear up some details here.

Every level of a figurine grants a 5% boost to the value of the esteem->essence conversion, with a maximum boost of +200%. The bonus starts from level two onwards (level 2, +10%. level 3, +15%. etc). The maximum essence that can ever be offered is 2,000,000,000 essence (offering a level 40 figurine with 10,000,000 esteem units is wasting 1,000,000,000 essence).

One unit of esteem correlates to 100 essence.

Where is that mythbusted smiley.
Unknown2011-11-02 20:55:32
Ok. So 1 esteem = 100 essence.
Max Esteem in one miniature is 10,000,000; so 1,000,000,000 essence.
1 Needle was the equivalent of 655 new esteem, so 65,500 essence.
An full unleveled figurine is approximately equal to 15268 needles.
A maxed out figurine is about twice that, at 30535 needles.
Also, who the heck payed 10k for needles? Try 6-8k.

It's pretty pointless to consider in any case; it's not as though anyone is going to buy a full (unleveled) figurine at over 100,000,000 gold anyway.

Probably in the pile of broken smilies, lost to the forum conversion. :(
Iosai2011-11-02 20:58:45
Just to be kind, in order not to waste essence, either go for a max level figurine with 6,666,666 esteem units, or a level 20 figurine with max units. :)
Anisu2011-11-02 21:45:44
Wonder who would ever do a max offering though
Iosai2011-11-02 22:22:43
Rika and Shuyin seem to have accepted the challenge.

A lot of people have accepted the Challenge.

Esteem prices have been at the 10k range, to match credits.
Unknown2011-11-03 01:51:02
Nobody has ever bought my needles at 10k, nor have I bought any esteem at 10k. 10k may be the asking price for some people, but it certainly isn't the best price you can get if you ask around.

I sold for 7K.

Mmm, 10,000/100% esteem is the same price at 15/1 unit. It sells, so I'm keeping it.

sold over 200-300 esteemed needles at 10k each in an aethershop. If you have a regular shop, then maybe that's the difference.
Unknown2011-11-03 14:55:56
Weren't you one of the people buying up esteem that was under 10k and reselling for 10k, thus artificially inflating the price?
I'm certain that if the orgs opened their respective esteem piles, price would plummet.
