Something like this as the end result hopefully. ^^

Oh hey, that's pretty sweet. I would recommend going up the right hand of the smithing line in case you ever want to use sweet Daedric goodies, but imo unless you're a minmaxer it doesn't really matter in the long run.

How good are you at lockpicking? Expert, Master, and Locksmith aren't especially needed, considering the sheer VOLUME of lockpicks you find. I have over 200 with no perks invested.

Why did you not go for the right side of the sneak tree? You seem like the sneaky type after all.

My current character I went straight up the heavy armor, heavy armor smithing, two handed and with a smattering of enchanting. Result? I can punch dragons to death or just chop em to pieces with my 2h axe.

Also, gloooorious unarmed instant kill moves make me happy. Nothing better than sprinting up to an annoying mage or archer and either punching them in the face until it stops being fun, or picking them up by the head and driving them into the ground.

I actually do have those points (except the dagger one) right now, I don't think the thinggy updated me putting more points in. I made it as a rough idea of what I wanted. I am sort of bad at the lockpicking game (very much preferred Oblivion's actually.) So thats why i grabbed points in lockpicking. I didn't go with the heavy armor perks of smithing because I didn't have an interest in them, as I planned on going with light armor even though the perks of sneak means that either armor is viable.

did the same as ssaliss, but I went with enchanting, smithing, destruction, heavy armor and alchemy. Alchemy can be used to increase your enchants and smith values, which boost destruction as well. And the end-game destruction spells require no movement from you so you need to be very tanky, or sacrifice your comrades to protect you with each spell.

That said, second run was marksman, smithing, enchanting, heavy armor, sneak and alchemy. If you sneak up to a dragon, you can basically one shot it.

edit: BTW There is a dagger that has a 25% chance of instantly killing any character, including questline characters. O_o

People suggest the heavy armor branch even if you're going light armor because the end result is Dragon Smithing for both, and that allows for both heavy and light armors (dragonbone and dragonscale) as well as giving you access to Daedric weaponry.

On the other hand, glass is only a little worse than daedric, and since enhancements are linear, legendary glass and legendary daedric aren't too different.

Damage difference between the two is three points on 1hrs and six points on 2hrs. I -think-.

And the Advanced Smithing perk give you access to a heavy armor suit that's equivalent in strength to dragonbone...

I keep making new characters 'cus I keep wanting to try different combat styles. Latest one, Illusion/Conjuration, I clear out barrows without hurting anybody myself. Needs a Calm Dragon perk though...

Also I'm just gonna leave this here.

Fiddling around with the perk calculator (damnit why did I have to find out about it?) and am thinking about going with this. Opinions?

Cut the light armor side and put three points in Bladesman

Put a point in custom fit

What's with all the points in Speech Perks?

Just sorta "maxing" out all the perks I can get, if I ever make it up that high. I mean I could put those into alchemy. Hrm I was readin on the UESP that the weapon perks arent all that good.

Fair point. Also I assumed when you said "cut the light armor side" you were meaning for smithing?
Razenth2011-12-23 21:14:17
I hear the crit damage only applies to base and not enhancements though.

Yep.

I should point out if you were holding out on Skyrim for a cheaper price for almost 24 hours (ending sometime between 12-2 PM Christmas Day) Skyrim is 33% off on Steam.

Skyrim is mine at long last: It is time for Strafes-in-Circles, my Argonian Archer/Thief to awaken as Dragonborn!

One more thing for Sarvasti, Maces are the best weapons in the game overall. Armor Penetration is VERY powerful against late-game enemies with decent gear.
