Yeah, getting transported to the fall of Climanti is rough. I'm looking forward to learning a whole lot of new lore here, at least!
Unknown2012-01-01 10:41:13
Okay, damn. That quest chain was a good build up for the Big Disaster. If no one else does, I'll clean up a log and post it for the folks who missed it (since it was way off-time.)

Thank you for a fantastic event. Sorry for my mindlessness at the end, its almost 11am here and I'm exhausted. Loved it, was frustrated by it, hated it but overall had a whole lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who worked on stages, couldn't have done it without you. Even if I did doom the basin to almost certain seconds-from-destruction drama! Wheee.

Off to bed now!

Me too, and I didn't even unleash certain death and global devastation!

Okay. So! I edited out a lot of stuff, including people openly inquiring about ice angel stats, etc. I didn't add anything, just removed the stuff that would detract from the drama too much.

Basically, Chade and a lot of other people were going along with what they were learning in Icewynd and doing their best to prevent Bad Things. Chade ended up with all the honour lines.

Chade (Male Demigod).
He has awoken the Eye of Zenos and perverted the ruins of Climanti.
He has helped the Ice Angels open the way to Climanti's past.
He has aided the Guardians of the Icewynd and banished the Forsaken.

Naturally, the first two seemed encouraging, but the last one about perverting the ruins threw us for a loop. Chade also had this cylinder he didn't know what to do with. But, as luck would have it, while walking through the mountain paths, I found a convenient cylindrical shaped hole that ended up drawing a crowd...

Before the Towering Statue of Chade.
Though sheltered by cliffs to either side, this pass remains treacherous and choked with boulders.
Strange carvings, worn away by wind and time to unsettling, incoherent import, mark the slick, ice-
glassed stone... ivory snow drifts rest below, their shapes no less unsettling for their abstract
nature. The wind seems somewhat more mute here, as if the despairing voice grows mute along the
approach to the ancient city. The Statue of Chade stands proudly here. Shaggy fur matted in
sparkling crystals, a rime-veined ice bear lumbers about. Iblis, the enchanted carpet floats above
the ground, wavering upon a voidborn wind. His skeletal tail curling between four fearsome legs, a
golden chimaera with iridescent butterfly-wings crouches quietly within his surroundings.
You see exits leading south and up.

Standing two stories tall, this pale, marble-wrought statue is carved into the ivory likeness of Chade, dressed in robes. Upon the rectangular base of the statue is carved, 'In Memory of Chade, the Savior of Climanti' under which is a cylindrical hole.
It weighs about 3000 pounds.
The Statue of Chade is holding:
Nothing.

Overhead, the cloud maelstorm suddenly darkens, becoming even more turbulent. Sickly yellow
lightning flashes through the clouds as they churn faster and faster.

An enormous spherical eye appears in the centre of the cloud maelstrom, slowly blinking with pure
alien malevolence.

You momentarily black out as the Eye of Zenos focuses on you, filling your mind with images of a
vast empty void and a ravenous hunger that leaves you gasping.

With a short laugh, Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Savior."

Chade cocks his head as though hearing a far off sound.
Psionic activity crackles in the air on the id channel of Viynain.
A white crystal cylinder slides easily in and pops out into the hands of Chade.

A click sounds from deep within the Statue of Chade, followed by shifting plates.

"Ummmm," Viynain says uncertainly.

Sidd says, "Journal."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "Oh goodness."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "How lengthy."

Tweaking his spectacles, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall remarks, "It seems to come from the
Librarian all those years ago."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "I can read it out loud or perhaps just pass it around
for everyone to get a cursory glance."

Sidd says, "Either way."

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Put in on the floor."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "I think I will read it aloud."

Shifting to recline comfortably, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "Silence would be
appreciated."

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus says, "Oh, nifty."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "From the journal we've just found, we begin: My
name is Hinani Cloudwalker, Chief Librarian of the Jeweled City of Climanti, and I was a member of a
conspiracy of trill that sent hundreds to their death. Along with Keeper Uli Snowfeather and her
wisdom and years, Sir Kini Icewing and his Climaru trained battle skills, Lady Inga Frostfeather and
her warm heart and creative arts, we had thought a dimensional rift opened in the Ice Haven would
offer our people salvation. Instead, the rift only offered death, a terrible death from which
perhaps twisted their very souls."

Clearing his throat, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Now, where was I...oh yes: At
that time, alarms were sounding, the attack of Zenos the Soulless God was imminent. And we were
trapped within the Ice Haven which became a living nightmare. The tunnels filled with the screams of
the populace trying to surge within, trying to find sanctuary, as they clogged the ice stairs. But
we knew the Ice Haven itself would offer no protection - indeed, the artifact known as the Glacial
Crown of Protection would not hide them from Zenos or anything else."

Turning a page, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall remarks, "Fighting against the tide of
people pushing to get into the Ice Haven, we fought our way out. We staggering onto the streets of
Climanti, only to find its glorious beauty split apart. Thought forms of Zenos buffeted us,
relentless, nearly tearing the wings from my back. How little we understood what an attack by a
Soulless God really meant!"

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Just before the full onslaught of Zenos, our minds
were plundered, our thoughts stolen away by the thought forms that choked the city. Every secret we
had, every hope, every desire was sucked out of us. And so Zenos learned of the Ice Haven, of course.
Learned that it was malfunctioning. Learned that a feast of souls awaited him. And in return, we
felt his gloating hunger, so terrible, so vast, so limitless, that some stuck their own fingers in
their mouths and bit them off."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Like a mammoth calf cornered by rabid ice bears,
whoever was left alive went into a mindless frenzy to flee. We ran mindlessly through the streets
just as the full force of Zenos came down upon us, filling our minds with a madness born of an
ancient seething rage. We flailed against the inevitable moment when we would be devoured."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "But then a miracle occurred. As part of Zenos was
worming his way into the Ice Haven, suddenly the whole of him was sucked inside. Hearing his
startled thoughts explode in a violent eruption, we were suddenly free of him. The entire populace
above ground was able to act."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall exclaims, ""Fly! Fly!" screamed Keeper Uli, and the rest of
us took up the call. "Fly! Fly!""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Of course, only the trill were able to get into
the air. A few merian and igasho threw themselves off the city walls, tumbling down the cliff face.
But those of us who were trill were able to take to the air."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Battered by the winds, it was almost impossible to
get airborne, but we were trained to fly against the killing winds of the thought forms of Zenos.
Keeper Uli, Sir Kini, Lady Inga and I were the last to leave, making sure all the trill who were
left were able to take flight. The psychic fury of Zenos was still in the air, as he and all the
thought forms were sucked down into the Ice Haven."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Would we make it? Would we? It seemed like we were
almost there, our wings furiously struggling against the eddies and currents of the flailing winds."
Turning another page, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "But then something caught us
from behind, a grip that was psychic rather than physical. It pulled us down back to the streets, as
surely as if some monstrous hand had reached us and plucked us from the air. We were like fish
caught on a line, being reeled in by the last thoughts of Zenos. All four of us lay broken on the
streets, staring at the departing forms of the other trill. At least many had escaped. Then, each of
us blacked out."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "How long we were unconscious, I do not know. It
could have been a minute or it could have been a year. Later, we shared with each other the visions
we had at that time. We knew what Zenos thought, and knew his realization. That the Ice Haven was
not malfunctioning, that it was a trap. And we realized with him what we truly were. Bait."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "In that instant of understanding, whether it came
from Zenos sharing his thoughts or from ourselves, I do not know, but in that moment we were changed.
The thought form of Zenos that held us, dissolved, its essence dissipating and disappearing, going
into us."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Then just as suddenly the episode was over. We
were lying in the streets, broken and bleeding, covered with debris. We roused ourselves, slowly
standing up."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "We were changed. There was no doubt about that.
Touching our own faces, then each other's, we could see how much we had changed, barely trill any
longer. Our skin was as smooth as ice and shone with an inner radiance. Our thoughts were sharpened.
Our senses more acute. We had been reborn."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""What has happened to us," asked Inga."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""It was Zenos, his power somehow infused us," said
Uli. "Perhaps it wasunintentional, some attempt he made to escape but failed.""

Showing that she understands, Tulemrah nods her head slowly.

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Did he fail?" asked Kini."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""I feel as though I am the same trill," I offered.
"

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""I do as well," said Uli."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Our wounds have healed," said Inga, flexing her
wings which were just moments ago broken."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Nothing can harm us!" said Kini."

Smoothly, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""I don't believe we will even age," said
Uli in awe."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "I knew as soon as she said it that it was true. We
were immortal. Falling silent, we pondered what this could meant. I voiced aloud what we were all
thinking."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Can we trust ourselves?" I asked. "We've been
touched and changed by a Soulless God. And Zenos was always the most subtle of them all. How do we
not know that we aren't some new monstrous weapon?""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Shuddering, Inga put a hand to her mouth, her eyes
filled with fear. Kini crossed his arms and scowled."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""We cannot undo what was done to us," said Uli. "I
don't think I am any different beyond the physical. But we must watch each other. See if there is
any change, and if so, we can seek help from the Vernal Gods.""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "So we all agreed. We would not allow ourselves to
become monsters. But, perhaps, this was a blessing, some freak accident which would allow us to turn
this disaster into something good."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""There are trill that escaped," said Inga. "We
must help them!""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""They would not know us," said Kini. "How would we
explain this change?""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""If they figure out what happened to us," I said,
"they'll reach the same suspicions that we reached about ourselves. Are we monsters?""

Opening his mouth wide, Viynain gapes in wonder.

Dramatically, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Let us change names then," said Uli.
"I will be from now on known as Loranara.""

Comprehension flashes across Chade's face.

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""And I will be Hanili," said Inga, or she who was
once known as Inga."

Chade's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.

Draylor La'Saet says, "That explains a lot."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Call me Wiliki!" said Sir Kini, eagerly casting
off his old identity."

Draylor's mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.

You say, "Yes."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Dungari," I said. "When I was a youngling, I
would daydream of ascending and taking that name.""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "What was there to do but to leave. We flew on new
wings, longer and stronger than those we were born with. We flew over the entire range of the
Icewynd Mountains in hours what used to take days. Power bubbled up in us like an endless spring."

With a turn of a page, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Eventually, we found the
trill survivors, huddled on the side of a mountain. We presented ourselves to them as guardians sent
by the Vernal Gods. With our newfound powers, we healed the wounded and created shelters for each."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Eventually, we divided them into tribes by family,
each of us taking charge of what was once our own family. I, who was once the old chubby librarian
known as Hinani Cloudwalker, was now Dungari the Bountiful. I took the remaining members of the
Cloudwalker clan, and bent their task to forage for food and sustenance. Wiliki the Just (once Sir
Kini) took the Icewing clan to hunt for meat. Loranara the White, once known as Keeper Uli, made
cause with the Snowfeather clan to focus on the mystic arts. As for Hanili the Beautiful, we let her
take the Frostfeathers to be what she had always been: artists."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Building took effort, and it was hard going at
first. But with our new powers, we were able to do what it would have taken decades to do manually.
Surely, this twist of fate was for the good. We would take up the mantle as the guardians of the
trill, leading them to a new age. Obviously, the trill hailed us as saviors. At least most did. I
only had to execute one trill, a rambunctious nephew of mine named Zajoh Cloudwalker who was asking
too many questions about my origins. But I only had to execute that one, and it was for the good of
the tribe for none other questioned me afterwards. Wiliki had to execute several of the Icewings,
stubborn lot that they were."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Several months later, the Vernal Gods returned. Of
course, we had to hide ourselves. They would not understand what we had become. We discussed often
whether we were something new, ascended from the Soulless Gods. The Vernal Gods would not understand
that. Were we perhaps superior to them? Perhaps they would be jealous of our power? When the Vernal
Gods finally left, we felt a psychic shout, filled with rage and loss."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall exclaims, ""We are the Forsaken! We are the Forsaken!""

With wonderment, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "It was easy enough to recognize
the psychic imprint. Prince Donfin Fardori. Were there many other survivors? Of course, the prince
and his father were the ones who betrayed Climanti. The trill survivors had told us of some Climaru
who had escaped but we were never able to find them. Perhaps they were agents of the Vernal Gods?"

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "The Vernal Gods left behind an artifact that
floated over the ice plains, the Living Spire of Celestial Winds. I moved my Cloudwalkers to seed
the maelstrom that formed around the Living Spire, so I could study it in better detail. I found I
did not trust it. One day, I would have to kill it."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Eventually, the Climaru survivors sent a scout to
parley with us, an igasho warrior dressed in the old uniform of the Climaru. Strangely, he wore a
veil and his eyes glowed crimson. We, as Guardians of the Icewynd, were benevolent gods but he could
not see it. He did not grovel before us, or beg for forgiveness. This igasho warrior came filled
with pride and demanded to know what we were. Obviously, we could not let our trill subjects listen
to this ranting. But we were fair and just gods so we tried to reason with him but he was beyond
reasoning."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Obviously, he is an agent of the Vernal Gods,"
said wise Loranara. "Just how his eyes glow red. The Vernal Gods have corrupted him somehow.""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Perhaps they are jealous of the great work we've
done for the trill," said Hanili, as she dismembered the igasho scout for his own good."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""The Soulless Gods gave us this power," I said,
"and it has done nothing but good. Is this what the Vernal Gods wish to prevent? What other lies
have they told about the Soulless?""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Yes!" said Wiliki. "The Soulless Gods are the
true saviors, obviously. And yet the Vernal Gods seek to trap them. We owe Zenos so much, and there
is so much more that he could do for us. We must free him!""

Tulemrah creases her brow in a frown.

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "It was so logical, so simple. We had to free Zenos,
our savior, and he would reward all trill. We, as the Chosen Ones, must lead the way."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Deciding thus, we prepared to enter Climanti and
free Zenos. The city by now was plagued by spectres, more proof of the predations of the Vernal Gods.
If we were to release Zenos, surely he would put everything to right. Just as he did with us."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Climanti was in ruins, the jeweled towers fallen,
the domes cracked, the streets upturned and broken. A seal had been placed around the Ice Haven,
which we were able to probe. Zenos was trapped in a dimensional prison, forever looping in its
endless corridors."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall asks, "Was there no end to the cruelty of the Vernal Gods?"

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "We could not break the seal, though we did find
other creatures, also touched by Zenos. They were once the snow wassets, who were somehow about to
phase out of the prison. They were ugly creatures before, but now they were truly hideous, devils of
the ice. They recognized us as chosen by Zenos and would serve us. We decided to sequester them in
the Iceburn Plains, where they would await our orders like dogs on a leash. Another gift of Zenos."

Turning another page, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "Before we could even attempt
to break the seal that held Zenos, the Forsaken attacked us. What powers they had developed as
Climaru were working against us! We tried to destroy them with bolts of power, but our attacks
slipped off their shields, bubbling away like ice thrown in a fire. We had no choice but to retreat.
"

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "These Forsaken were proving to be terrible
creatures, we would need to wipe them out. However they garnered their power, they were abominations.
But even if they weren't guarding the ruins of Climanti, it was doubtful that we could breach the
shield of the Vernal Gods."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""There has to be a way," said Loranara."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""There may be," I said. "If we could reach into
the past, if we could send the souls that are trapped in the Ice Haven, back to the future, it may
be possible to create a dimensional channel across time and space where Zenos could be freed.""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""Reach into the past?" asked Loranara. "Is such a
thing even possible?""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, ""It has to be," I said. "Remember those strangers
in the last days? They were rumoured to be from another time. Perhaps we have already succeeded and
they were sent by us.""

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall recites, "How long would it take to research the spells
required to travel across time? True, it would be a challenge, but we had all the time in the world
before us. Such was the gift of immorality, the gift of Zenos."

Putting the book away, Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall states, "And one day we would succeed.
We are, after all, the Angels of Ice."

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "And now they have."

You say, "Great."

Malarious gives up a round of applause.

In a husky, echoing baritone, Iblis, the enchanted carpet says, "...Startling revelations..."

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "A rousing reading."

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus says, "So. Now what."

Chaotic Canticle Laxinova Lunarose, Maestra Violist says, "Interesting indeed."

Tetra nods her head sagely at Iblis, the enchanted carpet.

You say, "Yes, definitely fascinating."

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "We were all duped."

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "Now we see if things went well or if we did something
problematic."

Creasing her brow faintly, Grand Cipher Tetra Alin'dor, the Ivory Paradigm says, "Does anyone feel
different?"

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "They were protecting us from themselves."

You say, "Uh, I think we kind of released Zenos already."

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus looks skeptical and says, "I felt Zenos. I would call this
problematic."

Tulemrah gives a pained sigh.

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Now we must fight a Soulless."

Grand Cipher Tetra Alin'dor, the Ivory Paradigm says, "Indeed. His eyes brushed my mind, ever so
briefly."

Tetra purses her lips pensively, gazing off into the distance as she carefully gathers her thoughts.

Eritheyl nods his head sagely at Tetra.

The corners of Chade's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.

Chade says, "Oh well, end of the world."

Chade says, "Must stay chipper about these things."

Grand Cipher Tetra Alin'dor, the Ivory Paradigm says to Chade, "Even if Creation ends as we know it,
I love you the same."

The ghost of a smile passes fleetingly across Tetra's lips.

Chade flashes Tetra a joyous smile.

You say, "It wouldn't be the first End of the World."

Chade gives Tetra a peck on the cheek.

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "I AM ALMOST COMPLETELY FREE! MY TRILL
SERVANTS SHALL BE REWARDED. THEY SHALL BE THE MASTER RACE TO RULE UPON MY RETURN. THUS, I GRANT ALL
TRILL A BOON SO THEY MAY SUBJUGATE THE LESSER RACES."

Eritheyl narrows his eyes to thin slits.

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus says, "Oh...oh dear."

Chaotic Canticle Laxinova Lunarose, Maestra Violist says, "Oh great."

Sidd chuckles long and heartily.

The corners of Chade's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "So."

Viynain blinks in confusion and asks, "Wot?"

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus asks Tulemrah, "Do you feel that?"

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "Whose a trill here."

Tulemrah claps her hands together merrily.

Sidd shifts his eyes suspiciously from side to side.

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "WITH THE HELP OF THE ONE NAMED CHADE, I
WILL ALSO REWARD THE ASLARAN RACE A BOON OF MY POWER, SUCH IS MY MANGIFICENT."

Chaotic Canticle Laxinova Lunarose, Maestra Violist says to Eritheyl, "You are an ice angel?"

Eritheyl lazily draws his wings to and fro through the air, fanning them slowly.

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Oh, that's nice."

Eritheyl utters a deep, rumbling laugh.

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "Tulemrah, you are an ice angel."

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus says, "Oh, this is excellent..."

She is an ice angel and stands at a fairly average height for a trill. Her regal wings are of an
elegant dark gold color and feature black bands near the bottom edge, while feathers of the same
colors sweep back from her head in a sharp crest. Her soft green eyes are set above a small nose and
delicate mouth. Her frame is tall and slender, but not overly thin. She is wearing a pink cloud-puff
earring through her left ear, a pair of black, thigh high stockings, a stormy cloud-puff earring
through her left ear, a stormy cloud-puff earring through her right ear, a dangling strand of
polyhedral beads of semiprecious stone, a deep cobalt gown with golden embroidery, a flat blue hat
with a small spray of sapphires, a silver knotted necklace threaded with pearls, a golden sunburst
stud through her left ear, a golden sunburst stud through her right ear, a diamond wedding band, an
engraved ring of gold and beryl, a moonstone ring bearing intricate geometric patterns, a pink star
ring, a coral ring etched with flowing swirls, a ring of emerald tetrahedron links, a diamond
hummingbird ring, a smooth pearl ring, a glittering diamond watch, a lightning bolt hair pin, a
turquoise rosebud ring, the Quintessential Mandala of Resplendent Harmony, a corsair's sable-grey
coat and a luxurious satchel with golden accents. Tattooed on her wrists is the illustration of a
ring of twilight flames, interspersed with golden aerials.

Chaotic Canticle Laxinova Lunarose, Maestra Violist says, "So do we have to kill the ice angels?"

Tulemrah peers about herself unscrupulously.

Malarious stares at Tulemrah with a burning intensity.

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "BOW DOWN MORTAL RACES BEFORE YOUR TRILL
MASTERS AND THEIR ASLARAN SERVANTS."

Tetra purses her lips pensively, gazing off into the distance as she carefully gathers her thoughts.

Malarious blinks.

Viynain scratches his head in confusion.

Folding her wings so she can reach them easily, Tulemrah preens her wings happily, straightening out
the disheveled feathers.

Laxinova stares at Tulemrah with a burning intensity.

You stare deep into Tulemrah's soul and discern that:
Tulemrah's health stands at 9100/9100.
Tulemrah's mana stands at 9600/9600.
Tulemrah's ego stands at 9300/9300.
Tulemrah's power stands at 10/10.

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "SOON ALL OTHER RACES WILL BE CONSUMED AND
BECOME A PART OF ME, SUCH WILL BE YOUR REWARD."

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "Well time to become a trill, sucks to be you guys?"

Tetra strokes a changeling cameo tenderly.

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "FIRST TO BE HONOURED WITH BECOMING PART OF
ME WILL BE THOSE KNOWN AS VISCANTI AND ILLITHOID. THESE I DESIRE TO CONSUME IN VAST NUMBERS. I
COMMAND MY TRILL AND ASLARAN SLAVES TO BRING THEM TO MY EYE WHICH WATCHES OVER ALL."

Chaotic Canticle Laxinova Lunarose, Maestra Violist says, "Well, that's not soo bad."

Sidd says, "Where is his Eye?"

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "WHEN I AM GLUTTED, I WILL CONSUME THE OTHER
SOULLESS GODS, AND THEN I WILL BE ALL POWERFUL, AND EVEN THE ONE KNOWN AS ESTARRA SHALL BOW DOWN TO
ME."

Eritheyl Skyplume, Execumatrix Magnificus says to Sidd, "Within the Palace, would be my first guess.
I can't recall."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "There are many eyes."

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "SO BEGINS A NEW AGE, THE AGE OF ZENOS!
REJOICE, LUSTERNIA, FOR I HAVE COME."

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Off to the Undervault, then."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "The blind, the clouded and the judging."

Master Mage Viynain Erid'in, Sparkleall says, "Though his particular eye...hmm."

Viynain purses his lips, deep in thought.

Sidd says, "Oh right."

Sidd puts his hands on his hips and goes "Hmmm!"

The howling of lost souls sweeps across the firmament, heralding the stern voice of Arcanis, who
booms, "Bring it on!"

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "Is that so, Zenos!"

Torturer Kalas Ildaudid, Ur'Marshal shouts, "Wow, thanks Chade for releasing that bag of wind upon
the Basin."

Marshal Naralis Siarani, the Right Hand of Scarlet shouts, "I hear you, Zenos! You will not take
this Basin, not as long as the Scarlets breathe!"

Veradin Munsia D'cente` thunders, "Munsy aint fraid of nobody. I'll fight you one on one Zenos."

Estarra appears in the heavens above, as the Eye of Zenos burns before Her in the Cloud Maelstrom.
She attempts to drive it back, but reality suddenly shudders and quake.

You reel as the voice of Zenos rages through your mind, "STUPID ESTARRA! IF YOU WERE TO TRY TO
ATTACK ME DIRECTLY, YOU WILL DESTORY ALL OF REALITY! NOW YOU MUST ACCEPT THE INEVITABILITY."

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "What have you done, mortals!"

You see Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes shout, "I told them it was a bad idea."

Torturer Kalas Ildaudid, Ur'Marshal shouts, "Thank Chade, Seems like Xenos thanked him."

Estarra's voice shatters the cosmic equilibrium, "I do not know what happened, but you must find a
way to right this wrong!"

Veradin Munsia D'cente` thunders, "Hey just another thing we can blame on Gaudiguch eh?"

The laughter of Zenos pervades the very atmosphere, causing you to fall to the ground, writhing in
pain.

Marshal Naralis Siarani, the Right Hand of Scarlet shouts, "We will, Mother Creatrix."

Veradin Munsia D'cente` thunders, "Famine, Idiocy, Badluck, oh and ya a Soulless."

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Maybe if we feed him enough, he'll get fat and
slow down."

Ecclesiar Kagato, the Plane Raider shouts, "Lady Estarra, what can we do to help the trill that have
been touched by this unknown being?"

Tulemrah peers about herself unscrupulously.

Sidd says, "I know of a particularly large cow."

Eritheyl smirks.

Provost Tulemrah Shevat, Tender of Breezes says, "Is she an illithiod? My lor-- I mean Zenos
mentioned illothiod."

Malarious twiddles his thumbs.

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "So."

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "I am thinking Avechna or Seals."

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "Best we can muster tends to be existing powers."

Wyrden Ravager Malarious, Votary of Bat says, "And I am not one to change from what works."

Woo, was loving this and the fun with the Team Hallifax crew for what I got to see of the event. *pompoms Divine!

Stupid New Year's getting in the way! :D

That was the only disadvantage as I think it kept a lot of people away who already had plans. I didn't expect things to climax on New Year's Eve!

I'm wondering if there will be follow-ups, I hope. The sky is still wounded, the weather is still flaky, and Zenos is about to bust his prision.

I wonder since the Trills are involved if there will be any hints to their lack of a language and if its tied to what we've recently learned.
Unknown2012-01-01 15:02:02
Well, that explains a lot. Any specifics on what trill receive?

25 base stats for everything, or it was just before I passed out at my keyboard. Still haven't figured out what the Aslaran boost does though.

Wish I'd been paying more attention, only just seen that Zenos' Eye is in the Cloud Maelstrom. Will be paying that a visit tomorrow. Think I'm going to have the evening off Lusternia though, suffering some intense burnout.

Sorry for making you port to Viynain by the way, I was totally out of power!

Oh, I figured about the power. I had been up for 24 hours at that point, and had started work at 4am that morning. In retail, on new years eve. I was mostly annoyed with the situation, unique as it was. I don't fault anyone.

But I got out of the choke rooms and immediately qq'd. Then I died as soon as I logged in today anyway. So my monitor got a rude gesture for about ten seconds, and that will be the end of it. Over all, the event was a great deal of fun- usually I miss them entirely because I work weekends. So this was a treat.

I'm guessing there will likely be many many more to come though!

This sounds like it was way more fun than the party I was at.

Not sure, I think Zenos the Insubstantial may have been a death message for those locked into Climanti's past when Zenos attacked. Maybe not though, it's a really cool area. Can't wait to see it opened up again after this event is over, I expect there might be a couple of quests in the area that haven't been touched yet.

Whole area gets my thumbs up, backstory was awesome, bashing is excellent and Viynain's recital was fantastic for wrapping up all those niggling little points. Now, all I have to do is make sure Mysrai doesn't throw me into the volcano enough times to send me back to Newton for releasing Zenos and I'm golden. I sense some grovelling ahead.
Turnus2012-01-01 16:44:09
I certainly look forward to exploring it more later. Sounds like a huge amount of work went into it. Though I hate getting involved with the rush/quest-whoring of events/new areas, so I'll wait a bit before tackling it.
Kagato2012-01-01 17:23:40
I think my only 'gripe' as such is the fact that it feels like I will not be of much use during this, only being 80th circle, I went for a wander to icewynd and found I took so much damage in the cloud maelstrom I almost got killed in one strike, then ended up GETTING killed by ice diggers (though it's a little more comforting to know I'm definitely not the only one that died at their hands.)

Looking forward to exploring more though once I find out where I can go without running into creatures in the mood for faeling stew
Kiradawea2012-01-01 17:32:57
I'm level 96 and I don't stand a chance against the ice-diggers either. Those are my main problem with what seems like an otherwise fun area. At least you can fly above them as a faeling, but no chance of fighting them still.
Iosai2012-01-01 17:35:57
Perhaps try exploring with friends and making liberal use of sqiunting, glancing, and observing!

No offense, but glancing does nothing when you are pulled from below upon entry into an apparently empty room. I tried glancing only to get pulled down and killed.

Icediggers leave mounds, just like gravediggers (or so I'm told)
