Greleag:

Important Note: Having the past, present or future trance for a type of trance also gives you the other two at half strength. So, for example, if you do TRANCE CLAW PAST, for example, you get the defensive option at double strength (20 DMP instead of 10) but can still do ENVISION CLAW and ENVISION SHEATHECLAW at normal strength.

Further example: Let's say you have Claws as your past trance,

Something nefarious happened to this post.

Kialkarkea:

Don't see anyone else walking around with four tertiary options. Poor warriors and monks only get two.

You act like Warriors don't have 4 primary specs.

As for druids, yay. Now time to see all the other meld classes incorporate the weather into their own demesnes.

After playing around with it and loving a lot about it, I've made these notes:

*Less power cost on changing all factors for demesne.
*Remove ground requirement for pressure, frogs
*Up pressure damage
*Lower thresholds for all weather based abilities (freeze, tornado, lightning, etc.). We're still poking around on these, but some of them are very high from what we can tell.
*Make Death not fade on terrain movement.
*Introduce TRANCES command to output info about trances currently up.
*Remove power cost on area or room changes that fail. Possibly remove eq time, ambivalent.
*Possibly change something to poison dmp? Some of my guildsfolk are grumbling that there is more elec dmp but no more poison dmp.
Xiel2012-01-03 04:39:27
Druids have plenty of poison DMP from Snake - I don't think that should be something they should be aiming for over say, asphyxiation.
Enyalida2012-01-03 04:42:33
Ack. How about making choke and quicksand not work together? Choking in a room that has quicksand also slows and solidifies the sand, or something.

Can always gust. Which, you know, you folks already do quite well.
Vadi2012-01-03 04:46:14
I'm going to take my time and see how things in practice before giving an opinion about the skillset. I definitely love the mechanics and the RP of it, though.

Yeah, this is making me reconsider the tattoo layout I worked on.

***********************************************
Type Base DMP Total DMP Resistance
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All 15 - -
Elemental 0 - -
Cosmic 10 - -
Cutting 40 55 35%
Blunt 40 55 35%
Asphyxiation 10 25 22%
Poison 41 56 35%
Psychic 10 25 22%
Magical 42 57 35%
Cold 60 75 41%
Electricity 50 65 38%
Fire 25 40 30%
Divinus 0 25 22%
Excorable 0 25 22%
*******************************************************************************

This is with every defence available (future bloom, present root, past sky). relevnat tattoos: 50 cold, 50 electric, 100 magic, 100 poison, 100 psychic. Just need a tattoo and it's around our average.

Shamanism looks great and at first blush, seems more appropriate and better for a Druid when it comes to 1v1 pvp. It seems to make sticking saplocks easier given the passive entangle, bone whoring, and claw spamming.

This is all theorycrafting though, we'll see about the application, but I have high hopes!

P.S. I wouldn't worry about about combos either, since group combat is group combat.

The special report will definitely need to take this into account though.
Enyalida2012-01-03 05:36:34
Hmm, are arenas going to be given weather as well? I hope so!

Yeah, the poison thing was just something a few people brought up, it's not a huge deal.
Unknown2012-01-03 05:38:31
The increased hasty messages are already really really really old. Absolutely annoying. Like, if I were a new player, it would get under my skin enough not bother.

Other than that, glad the weather is back.
Unknown2012-01-03 05:51:00
Incidentally, I agree with adding a trances command and somehow reducing the cost of changing the weather effects for room only, whether it be eq or power or both. Maybe you could also look into an ability to 'speed' up the shifting of weather as well.

Meld/area wide is fine. Might be able to use the 'speed up' effect for a high amount of power.

Oh god, what changed with hasty messages?

No, I think it should be for demesne only, really. If you have a demesne up, you are preparing for combat, and really don't have the time for spamming dozens of manipulate commands for power. The fluff makes sense also, both existing and new, of you being in more absolute control in your own demesne. Lower room perhaps (kind of warrants it), but make demesne changing more potent, please?
Saran2012-01-03 06:11:03
Perhaps a modifier for manipulations? more power, less control, moves things up or down faster
Vadi2012-01-03 06:12:26
Not even a single raid to my knowledge happened yet to warrant asking for anything...

Probably because people are waiting for system updates.
Saran2012-01-03 06:16:00
It's more that I was in the arena, and spent most of the time in there trying to push the temperature down low enough to use freeze. (not sure why it was working then but not now, but oh well)
Malarious2012-01-03 06:16:15
I am waiting for a claws nerf. Right now you are basically stunned 50% of the time spammably with fairly high damage. In sap (or since its not meld dependent... aeon) I can imagine this will be rediculous, no cost, and causes damage.

As to the rest I think it has promise though not sure how much potential it has, but we will see! :)

Lovely set though!

You... don't need to raid to ask for things.
