I was just thinking. Since you guys have several mid/low stanza targetted songs, why not ask them to be divorced from the stanzas, and just be targetted active attacks like the Starhymn angel ones without the stanza windback?

Don't those starhymn ones wind back the song a couple stanzas at each use? I think avengingangel does that. That's annoying. Course ours doesn't hit passive blackout every 2 seconds so maybe we could get away without that.

An example of what? All of the special angel songs within Starhymn rewind you stanzas depending on how powerful the effect is. There are no examples of "like the Starhymn mechanic, but not exactly that mechanic" because there is no mechanic exactly like the Starhymn mechanic without part of what that mechanic is. The closest would be something like Harmony Heart/Soulfire, or possibly even Shamanism trances. As long as you have the effect in your song somewhere (and have refrained at least once while it was in your song) you can then elicit an active effect. You'd just use a different syntax than PERFORM REFRAIN (or whatever it is) on that target.

Well the idea I was going for was divorcing the PERFORM REFRAIN from AurelionAubade, FleckedFortissimo and maybe even SkySforzando and just have a general active syntax for them, such as CRYSTALSPIN(example) BLOODSTONE/BERYL AT . (Just like the syntax from Starhymn, how they STARCALL AVENGINGANGEL AT to use theirs.) But yes, without the stanza windback.

If the select skills were vocal in nature (that would be a fun change, including operatic skills for operatic bards!), it would be easier for me to come up with ideas for a fitting syntax. Right now, I've got nothing that's easy/nice to type out, like STARCALL.

If anyone suggests CRYSTALCALL, I'll be forced to sigh rather heavily.

That'd be sort of strange, though, considering we aren't guaranteed to be using the crystals assigned to each skill. I would do anything for an overhaul (if this is ever implemented) that gives us a more operatic theme :/

Maybe that could be a requirement for the skill, you need a crystal to focus the operatic notes?

STARCALL is the syntax for Celestialism. According to the wiki, StarHymn uses STARSONG CALL AVENGINGANGEL ON . So LORALSONG or CRYSTALSONG?

I'd considered that, but I'm not so sure the crystals are worth using in the first place. But, if the effects are going to be standalone, I could part with one or two that I have now to opt for something better. Hmm! LORALSONG wouldn't be terrible, it's sort of catchy!
