Don't forget Greywhispers (needs a cure or a more substantial cost), ForceField (needs to either let some damage though or be substantially easier to burn out), and monks (need to either sacrifice some damage, attrition, or hindering)

I have no idea how this thread ended up like this, but lol.
In fact, tell you what, if anyone can provide actual logs demonstrating an imbalance without using personal opinion and pitchforking, I'll use up a report slot for each one that I reasonably have access to.
P.S. Choke report is is definitely done, the IRE newsletter even said they got the special report already! Sorry!
Edit: Forgot envoywar rules.

Pool of Stars.
This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water. An enormously wide circular pool, as dark as the night sky, glitters softly under the luminous sky. Mounted upon a celestial steed, a cavalier of the Light attentively watches his surroundings. There are 43 archons of Eternal Light here. An imposing sword of radiant white metal has been driven deep into the ground in a silent statement of intent.
You see exits leading north, east, south, and west.

The sands of Celestia.
A rhythmic thrumming saturates the area, drawing attention to a war shrine of Terentia nearby. This location is flooded with shallow, crystal clear water.
Malarious is here, looking wyrd-ish.
You see exits leading north, southeast, south, and southwest.

Greywhispers causes 2 affs and hits fast, the hallifax version does 3 affs at a time. Food for thought, but yes reducing them seems fine. We have things I think people agree are a bit much, lets see if the obvious things get fixed first. (Shuyin, meet badluck, change is listed. it wont kill the cure aspect in the least, go!)
Actually thank you. Add to list:
- Institute 0p trueheal (scalpel release)

How to balance combat in three easy steps:
1) Delete all skills but the newbie kick.
2) Increase newbie kick's power by over 9000.
3) Give unique kick lines to each guild to keep the flavor in the game.
Some examples:
Shuyin's leg splits apart into a mass of tentacles, pelting you with countless kicks.
Placeus calls an archangel who kicks you in the shin. "The power of the Light compels you!"
Malarious hisses at you and bares his Nekotai in a fit of rage before kicking you.
Llandros plays a wracking tune, the music forcing you to dance in place. To your dismay, you kick yourself repeatedly.
Revan plants his staff into the ground, using it to jumpkick you. Upon impact, dirt and explode everywhere.

How to derail possibly meaningful and fruitful conversation:
1) Engage in pointless hyperbole
2) Lead into Reduction ad absurdum
3) Give some minor reason why your derail away from class conversations is legitimate, to preserve flavour. Alternately, engage in this process 'ironically'.
Some examples:
((I actually decided against the few I had written, seemed like going a bit far.))

On a serious note, blanket "these are the skills which I feel are OP" statements are such a cop out anyway, not mention that they're almost pathetically obvious. Furthermore, oddly enough, they also do not usually involve any skills that the posters themselves use.
Absurd posts are met with absurd responses.
If you genuinely have an issue with a skill, then make a topic on it in the combat subforum. God knows it's barren enough as it is.

And/Or how bout that burst vessel fix.
@Shuyin: You want a topic about OP skills? No such topics survive!
Rivius2012-04-04 23:23:27
Yeah, everyone has something someone else would call OP. That said, there are things in Lusternia that are hopelessly unbalanceable, oh well.
I'm curious what the Hallifax version of greywhispers is that gives three affs though...

Sorry, your guild already peaked.
Meet Dilute, the single biggest griefing skill in any IRE game.
Meet oldschool Telepathy, one hit bombs from one person.

But those got deleted/nerfed :(
And one hit bombs were Athana and/or Geos with their demesne damage
Also, dilute was more buggy then horribly OP from all that I've read imo
