Could we also get these two fixes:
-Make offering a demicorpse count all of the exp gained from lvl1-99 in addition to their essence? So that becoming a demigod doesn't suddenly drop your offering worth close to none? Especially as it's a lot harder to get ahold of a darn demicorpse and offer it before they phoenix.
-Make losing demigod not wipe all of your powers. Set them all to ephemeral and perhaps require a flat unlocking fee to start re-unlocking powers you've already bought.

I'll add in the first.
I'd like more discussion on the second. Tbh, I feel like people who lose demigod weren't exactly the most careful of individuals.

I've added most of the non-crazy power suggestions. Feel free to suggest more.

Sojiro:
10. Increase the essence worth of demigod corpses when offered to a divine. Something to the effect of the essence cost of offering someone levelled 99 x 2
I'd say change this to level 99 + (whatever current demiessence -> godessence amount is).

Okay!
Edited.

A demi power to rez your beast, so it can be summoned again without having to wait an hour?
Unknown2012-03-02 01:06:03
It's in there already
Turnus2012-03-02 02:38:45
Hmm, I must have missed it. Okay.

Sleep. Be able to sleep as long as you'd like, with the ability to choose to enjoy pleasant dreams, or nightmares. Would also allow you to communicate with out of body entities that are in the room while you are sleeping. You can't see them, but you can speak.
Finger enchantments. Be able to bond with a ring or bracelet on your body, leaving the enchantment behind. The enchantments would decay after a set amount of time, or maybe a charge will disappear per month. You have to rebond to a ring or bracelet to get the enchantment. But rp wise, it would be pretty cool in that demi's don't need to stick with such mortal things as rings and trinkets to draw out their defenses - but instead can rub a finger or two.
Certain emotes when completed by the demigod now contain powers? Like bearhug can do a little bit of damage. So demigods that decide to hum, would give a small burst of movement to people around them, who are bolstered by a demi's words or sounds. Can go into a little bit of the combat side with defending from certain kinds of attacks, or at least having a chance to.
Wing roads. Be able to use slipstreams in the air to sprint faster and with curves. For example, if a demigod were to fly on the mountains, and lets say there are the rooms ne e e se e, by following the slipstream, a demi who can fly can do a sprint 7 rooms in a direction, but be able to curve on the path.
Water call. Be able to sense - when in water - other presences in water. For example, if you are swimming in the inner sea, you can sense a person walking through a watery room. Same options would work for snow, rain, or other weather effects. Something of a nature's resonance.

Should be a dreamweaver ability, not a demi ability, so I'm very bleh about this. Also the second part is goofy, you are asleep, you can't talk!

Tooo gooofy. Also, let's not mess too much with tradeskills.

Bearhug already does damage for Tae'dae! I'm not really sure emotes should have anything special attached, these sound more like ideas for other minor powers, suggest away!

Doesn't sound very feasible to code. You could ask for something like the telescope, but for sprinting, I'd be much cooler with that.

Like Stealth Awareness/Specs? Eeehhhh.

I like the sleep idea. And it makes perfect sense that while sleeping you can speak to dreamweavers and such in the same place as you. Neither of those would be a meaningful incursion on dreamweavers. (Either of them!)

I'd set the diminishing returns for essence at 100 million. It takes 85 million to get veneration and a cult started, and I know some people like to save up beyond the cost so they're not at just a few million when they invest in one of the large powers.
Also: losing demi shouldn't cause you to lose all of your invested powers. Maybe lock them out, but for, say, 15 mill, you can get them alllll back. It's a ridiculous price to pay to lose demi, and I don't care how hard or easy it is to maintain demigod, that doesn't justify the severity and harshness of said actions. I doubt I'm the only one that would probably just...quit if I lost demigod. (Example: Urazial. He may have quit for other reasons, but he not only lost demigod, but vernal demigod + all of the powers he had purchased. I never liked him, but even I thought that was harsh.)

You should never lose any power purchased, ever, for any reason. If you lose Ascendant, Ascendant powers should just go dormant. If you lose Vernal Demigod, same thing. If you lose Demigod, you can reactivate them all when you get Demi back.
It's always possible to get back what you've lost, so should be able to reactivate things without having to repurchase with oodles more essence.

I agree with the above statements. I feel like my vote should count 4 or 5 times (I forgot :().

I was thinking about how a demigod can use himself to replace certain commodities like magic ink. Instead of using that commodity, they would take the quill and puncture themselves to draw out a bead of blood. By doing so, they can use the blood to draw the sigils, work on letters and such.
It would draw from the demigod's health directly, not the essence. And by using the blood, if used on a text it serves as a kind of seal as well. But if a demigod uses too much blood too quickly, there would be bleeding as well - meaning clotting is needed. So you can still purchase the quill - no blood is needed, unlimited ink, available at all circles, versus using your own blood for a special power at level 100.

I don't like giving demigods recharging magicink. It would make my quill pretty useless.
Sylphas2012-03-05 17:46:02
It's an awesome idea, but mechanically impractical given the economic implications. :(
Ssaliss2012-03-05 17:54:18
The proposed cost of it is also a relative non-issue. Bleeding? Clotting? Odds are the demi can either just regenerate it without a problem, or at most have to sip mana every now and then. The only real cost to it seems to be the weight it would be given.
Svorai2012-03-05 22:42:18
I don't like the idea of giving demigods carving rights, but that might just be me. It might not get done 100% of the time, but it's not going to kill us if it's not done.
We have lots of druids, and it's something unique and important to our guild - makes us important and essential. And if people don't do it, I get to thwap them. You have access to censers, already. Don't take this away from meeee...
And I can't lure Ssaliss and Xenthos to the BT without this power. Come on.

On the other hand, I find totem carving enormously boring and repetitive. I've got a script that handles it, though I need to fix it up a bit. I don't think anyone else should be able to do it though, makes no sense!
