I must say I love the new additions to the curing system. One question though: How does deepwounds curing work? Does it prioritise one limb over the other, or does it cure the most damaged limb, or does it apply randomly among the wounded limbs? Something else?

At the moment, it just does "apply healing", and leaves it at that. It will help, but it's not something to rely upon.

Ssaliss:

I posted this in the Ideas thread, but I might as well cross-post it to here as well: Add FIRSTAID CURE . This wouldn't necessarily be for pure newbies, but rather for those that are getting started writing their own systems. If added, the next step from a pure firstaid system wouldn't be a completely stand-alone system, but rather a system that keeps track of what afflictions you have, and it uses firstaid to cure them individually, allowing for priorities.

Another idea I posted some while back was a Firstaid for defenses, as the "other side" of combat. It would work the same way; you'd have to add a defense to it, and when performed, it would try to add that defense (given the balances are there), even if it's already up (much like Firstaid tries to cure your afflictions even if you don't have them).

Also, more aff-messages! They are severely lacking, to be honest. And a unified message for cures would be nice as well (such as "You are no longer afflicted with x" in addition to the current cure messages).

EDIT: Oh, and in response to automating FirstAid: It would depend on the level of automation, I think. Having it automatically add/remove afflictions as they come and go would probably be taking it too far. However, adding it to the auto-sip system where it tries to curequeue when you get balances back would be very nice.

I agree. A defense version would be most interesting.

I came back to Lusternia because of Stratagems and FirstAid. It makes the game playable from nexus in a way that wasn't possible before. That said, after I few days of playing I realized I still needed to 'get a system', and that was a bit annoying for me. (especially since this system isn't as plug and play as I wanted).

That said I suggest the following things.

1. Make FirstAid more automatic. If it can be completely automatic, with the option to turn it off while practicing for some reason, that would be even better.
2. Add curing of deep wounds etc like others said.
3. Add messages telling the user when they have afflicted a person with a specific affliction, as well as unified messages of when you get an affliction. (in addition to the really great descriptive fluff, not a replacement) I'm personally finding that I need to find too many people to give me more 'trigger lines' to get my basic attacks up and running without embarrassing myself. Since I'm playing in off peak hours, this is rather frustrating.

I think the more you can make combat and the game accessible without third party tools and communities the better off the game will be. Personally, I think people who disagree with that are suffering from 'who moved my cheese" symptoms.

1. autoheal on
3. config affmessages on

Number 2 is fair enough, but I thought autoheal already did that. Oh well.

It does,

Syntax: CURING AUTOHEAL STATUS
CURING AUTOHEAL
CURING AUTOHEAL DEFAULTS
CURING AUTOHEAL
CURING AUTOHEAL
CURING AUTOHEAL VIALS
CURING AUTOHEAL SPARKLE
CURING AUTOHEAL SCROLL
CURING AUTOHEAL DOMOTH
CURING AUTOHEAL DEEPWOUNDS
Ssaliss2012-05-06 10:50:48
Yep, curing does deepwounds (kinda). It's not an entirely efficient way (it basically goes "if (deepwounds) apply health").

Also, Shu, I don't think there is an auto-firstaid; autoheal just does HME-healing.

And Daganev, if you want to be any kind of proficient in combat, then you'll have to get a system anyway. FirstAid is good for bashing and the very entry-level of PvP, but since it lacks any kind of prioritised afflictions, it breaks down really quickly against someone who knows what they're doing.

No there's autocuring of affs too. I might have forgotten the exact syntax
Ssaliss2012-05-06 11:17:50
You sure? I can't find anything in Curing... There was, for a few minutes, a CURING AUTOAID that didn't do anything, but that one's not visible on the configs anymore (although it does still exist somewhere in the code; my alt still has it turned on).

Tsk you. There is no facility for getting auto-firstaid in game at the moment, though as Shuyin touched upon (albeit accidentally), I've been looking into adding it.

Point number 3 was more about letting me know that I just hit somebody and gave them X affliction. Not that I received an affliction.

While I agree that anybody who wants to win competitions will need to get a system of some sort, I don't agree that anybody who wants to fight or be useful in a fight will need a system. Learning to exploit the default curing system, would definitely be part of going above and beyond what most players will have time to do.

However, last time I played, there just was nothing fun about joining a fight if you "left your system on the other computer". I feel that now, its a possibility, and with improvements could be fun for most people.

It's very exciting to hear that improvements are being worked on.
