Automated curing is win. Let us have it too so we're inline with the other IRE title(s?) that has / have it. Client systems are still going to be faster but it closes the gap between newbie and veteran and that's good imo. A game should not be difficult because it is unkind to its users. There are other and better ways to keep players challenged.

An idea I brought up over envoys once, but went mostly ignored:

ClearTea - A brewmeistery tea that, when sipped, reproduces the effects of using Focus Mind at twice the usual mana cost. Requires/consumes the same amount of focus balance as Focus Mind does and is blocked by impatience but not anorexia. Essentially 100% identical to Focus Mind, except for the higher mana cost and the lack of lesson investment required.

Not sure being able to double Focus Mind is a good idea...

Reading comprehension! It requires/consumes focus balance and is therefore mutally exclusive with Focus Mind.

I see. I like both ideas then.

Move Focus Mind down, make mana cost dependent on skill level, or just a skill at it's current position that reduces its mana cost. Simplier.

That aside, I dunno how I feel about that idea.

Well, or that, I guess.
Enyalida2012-03-03 00:33:35
Also, make the focus balance on it really slow.

In group fights, like what we see most of the time, you just need enough defensive skills to survive for the 5-10 seconds it takes to escape a mass damage kill and the presence of mind not to walk into a room with the enemy group.

Unless they brought balestone, then your whole group can be wiped out at the same rate, they dont even have to target.
Mirami2012-03-03 01:01:36
Good idea.

Before I tried Lusternia, I tried Imperian which just introduced built-in curing (it's actually why I tried the game).

It makes the game so much more accessible to new players, I can't stress enough how playing there hooked me into IRE which is how I ended up here.

What is it? Wiki isn't updated yet.

In short, a sigil that auto-recharges a jewelry from a cube.
Unknown2012-03-04 13:31:47
It's not a sigil. It works on all of your items when it's in your inventory.

If so, I'd bug that; it's supposed to be attached to items and only work on the item it's attached to, as I understand it.

It's awfully cheap otherwise.

I'm not sure where you got this idea from - I certainly can't make it recharge everything by holding it in my inv. It's essentially a tinker's version of a sigil, so yes, it has to be attached to the item.

Regulator Construct a mechanism to recharge your enchantments.

  • Expert 75%
  • Syntax: TINKER REGULATOR

  • Commodities: 4 steel, 2 gold, 2 platinum
While in the arcane ritual chamber of enchanters, you may tinker together a clockwork regulator to attach to enchanted items. When that item discharges its enchantment, the regulator will automatically whirl into activity and try to recharge the item from an energy cube in your hands.

Unknown2012-03-04 14:44:20
I got that from the fact that it was 12PM and the syntax list didn't have ATTACH REGULATOR TO RING listed as a syntax.
Unknown2012-03-04 19:08:12
Though, a regulator-type item that you could just hold in your inventory and link to X (5? 10?) number of enchantments might make a pretty spiffy artifact... -chin-
Xenthos2012-03-04 19:13:22
TOO LATE!

I already bought 13 regulators. :(

(It also couldn't be priced very high, regulators are pretty cheap and easy to attach to everything. Unless it also reduced the charges consumed, in which case it would be handy; maybe if it only used a charge every other time or something)
