I just came back from seeing it, and oh my lord, I loved this. So many great scenes and lines, but Loki vs. Hulk certainly takes the cake. It was an extremely small audience, literally just 4 people so it had been pretty quiet, but we were all "HAHA YES" at that.

Re: Noisy audience theaters: Personally I love it when the audience is cheering or laughing during the movie, gives it a lot of energy during the best scenes, and some scenes really just call for it, honestly. I recall when my theater had Real Steel, during the last fight scene, when we had a decent crowd in there, the theater audience was easily cheering as loud as the in movie audience.

I saw this with my roommates last night. O. M. G! Easily one of the best movies of all time. ScarJo throughout the movie (in a tight combat suit, no less), the Hulk DESTROYING everything, Robert Downey Jr. being his normal, funny self, Thor being a damn powerhouse... God, this movie was simply incredible.

Even with all of the explosions and fighting, they didn't detract from the story. I was engaged and thoroughly entertained the entire time.

But, most importantly, Scarlett Johansson's ass in skin-tight leather. Mmmm...

Ha! A lot of British people would be horrified by clapping and cheering at a film. The director can't even hear you so what's the point of showing appreciation?!

As a british person, I can confirm this.

People can laugh in a movie theatre, sure, it's mostly involuntary and we did all laugh when the hulk had that epic fight. But cheering and clapping? When that was mentioned my monocle popped out and I exclaimed, "Good God, they can't be serious!"

I have no idea where the Spoiler button is, but I'm going to ruin the movie for you all. Enjoy!

I give people dirty looks for clapping and cheering at movies too, and I'm not british at all!
