Are you counting all the ways a cavalier can prone someone as knockdown, or only wound based way of doing it?
Asmodea2012-05-13 08:39:05
Now all you need is all the AB's for the new Bard Tertiary! Wheee!
Xiel2012-05-13 08:39:33
Silliness.

Rawr, I missed polearm spec release? Picked worst weekend to not play ever! :(

Edit: First question of likely many more, does steed bond give free vault?

mount, gallop, trot, and kicking
Ushaara2012-05-13 15:38:35
Derp, think I misunderstood. The 'Mounted: No' thing made me think you could only land those affs if you weren't mounted, and I was picturing someone constantly hopping on/off their mount.

Hrm, Skewer seems like it'd be difficult to pull off, with both crushchest and severspine allheale'able iirc.

ab cavalier joust
CAVALIER - JOUST

Syntax: STEED JOUST

This brutal, yet noble, tradition holds a great history for Cavaliers,
being a sport often used for entertainment and honourable duels.

You can only joust with a mounted opponent, and you will have to take
some time to gather speed. When you do finally connect with your target,
you will deal massive wounds to their midriff and dismount them.

If your opponent is also a Cavalier, they can opt to accept your
invitation for a joust. The outcome of this duel will depend upon a
number of factors, including yours and your opponent's size, dexterity,
strength, and beast.

Yay, put in the Joust AB and fixed the typos which moved broken limbs to light wound level swings. The doubled up cluster according to the wound chart at heavy-level arm swings is fixed now, however light-level wounds have both KnockDown and BreakLeg now. I wonder how that plays out.

One might really be 'negligible'.

KnockDown is medium. Updated!
Xiel2012-05-13 21:22:29
Oooooh, yay. Thank you for clarifying! :D

Just wondering why tae'dae was picked to be good with polearms.

Which race would you have expected?
Qistrel2012-05-14 14:20:04
Well, I didn't have any race in mind, but I always thought Ackleberry would get furrikin and tae'dae specs, so they wouldn't get a native weapon. But maybe not.

Tae'dae were the cavaliers during the Vernal Wars. At some point (maybe even when the Cavaliers came into the future!), the specialization was lost, and the only reason it survives during the present day is because the tae'dae cavaliers decided to share it before they turned into stone due to their temporally disparate nature.

Native weaponry is generally assigned according to roleplay (ie krokani were historically bonecrushers).

That doesn't mean tae'dae won't be a specialization race in Ackleberry - but my saying that doesn't mean they will, either.

Only way to know for sure is for Ackleberry to be released! And really, we need to really grow in game population before that occurs. So, get out there! If everyone recruits four people that stay.... B)

You and Iosai will have more people to troll?

How viable is tae dae now for warrior if you're a cavalier? Is the slow balance penalty and low dex make them hard to work wih warrior?
Qistrel2012-05-14 17:23:45
Did we know that there were tae'dae cavaliers before this event?
Lilia2012-05-14 18:53:22
I would have expected trill to get the polearm spec, due to what I've seen so far in game. The halberd is the traditional weapon of the Sentinels, and some of the trill warriors in old Climanti used them too. I had never heard of cavaliers before this event, but of course, that doesn't mean the idea didn't already exist in the admin's mind.
