It's probably easier to confirm for one of the cavaliers who still have another weaponspec skillflexed and still have their weapon for that spec. 12.5% is 2.5 artifact wounding runes and for net wound building, it is pretty massive.
Enyalida2012-05-21 19:08:51
Yeah, and wounding is str based, so Cavaliers should be doing truly massive amounts of wounding. A normal arti'd warrior can get one of my limbs to heavy in a single round of combat, easy, without being Tae'dae. That's with 60/41 robes, and 22/24 shield.
Unknown2012-05-21 20:41:28
Why can't we compare wiccan/guardian ents to a cavalier's mount? They are both entourage, and are integral to the player's offense. And mounts are integral to the warrior's offense, you can't land any crit wounds without being mounted.
Unknown2012-05-21 20:52:11
Saying mounts are comparable to ents is like saying that aeon and choke are comparable.

They are similar, but it is definitely arguable that it's not a one to one comparison.

I am still not convinced that cavaliers should be more or less immune to losing their "ent", sorry. I mean geez, disloyalty doesn't even work on mounts, for one.
Xenthos2012-05-21 21:49:00
My understanding is that it is not 25% more wounding for being mounted...

Instead, you get +25% wounding on a hefted jab (with heft taking around a second for a l2 balance race with a 210 speed bardiche).

Further, while balancing is nice, it doesn't seem to be greatly significant (I go from 'slight' to 'intermediate'), though perhaps it's just that I don't have a lot of other rooting abilities to stack on with it.

What's there to understand, you can easily try it out first-hand and let us know whether what I heard was right or wrong.

I'm available for targeting practice in the game any time!

Such is easier when I'm not cooking dinner!

(And, clearly, forum-posting at the same time. Poor dinner.)

My testing showing:

20 str, 575 prec (runed up) vs. 71/64 splendors + 52/52 shield rune. Strikes to chest.

Cavalier:
Strike: 1024
Mounted Beast Strike: 1097
Mounted Steed Strike: 1170

Pureblade:
Strike: 1097
Mounted Beast Strike: 1097
Mounted Steed Strike: 1097

So 6.6% reduction off base wounding for being dismounted, mounted on a non-steed beast being neutral and 6.6% bonus for being mounted on loyal steed.

Being mounted on anything other than loyal steed rules out things like PinCharge and the other Steed abilities.

From: Estarra the Eternal
To : Everyone
Subj: Tridents

After realizing that we had tridents listed as a polearm, we realized
that interefered with future development (don't ask) so we have pulled
them from designs and you will no longer be able to create tridents as
polearms.

Penned by My hand on the 10th of Juliary, in the year 325 CE.

What does this mean for my cavalier who got a trident as her weapon? :(
Can I still use it? I'd need to earn a lot of gold to get a new weapon...for which I need a weapon.

You can still use it but eventually you'll want a new weapon after it decays. (Please don't rune it.)
Xiel2012-05-22 21:14:01
Oh, hey, glaives replaced the trident now. Neat. :D

I'm still curious to know which weapon is which though. Ie. I think people said bardiches were the speed weapons, but which is which in regards to damage, precision, and general utility?
Morshoth2012-05-22 21:24:23
Ooooh... wonder what tridents will be for -begin speculation-
Xenthos2012-05-22 21:37:30
Fisher-folk.

From HELP WEAPONS:
Two-Handed Polearms
Bardiche : Streamlined weapons focusing on speed.
Lance : A precise striker.
Halberd : The most damaging of the polearms.
Glaive : An all-rounder.

...how did I never know about this help scroll?

Mmm, glaives remind me of Imperian. Warden was such a fun class.

I'm going to call tridents being used for some sort of fishing feature.

Yay for HELP updates. <3
