Veyrzhul:
Can't anyone with the coding knowledge happily create as many of such websites as they feel just to capture whatever information the live feed provides? Would you wanna opt in for all of those?
From what I gathered, only those with a low score to begin with have an incentive to hunt down noncoms for easy points; for all others, there is little to no benefit.
Nope. There has been no approval given for anyone to have their names used in the creation of this scoreboard. If you want to participate in something, you opt in. But there should be no forced participation.

Well, there isn't really any information being released here that isn't already available to someone who is keeping an eye on the Lusternia live feed; anyone who wants to keep score could already have done so. The scoreboard is a nifty way to keep an eye on who is behaving, or misbehaving, and I'm enjoying having access to it.
I don't agree with the stance that the scoreboard disrupts the game atmosphere. I take it on good faith that characters are not going to go on random killing sprees just because players have this convenient way of comparing kill counts. If thats the direction they choose to take their characters, though, that's their choice and choices have consequences, so I'm confident things will sort themselves out in-game.

My guess for lack of actual internet law knowledge is that the only instance that could actually prevent this is IRE by disallowing the usage of their data for that. But since they're making it public in the live feed in the first place, I doubt that would ever happen, anyway.
None of your personal data is being used there, so your say in this is 0.

I actually agree with Veyrzhul. I like that this uses a formula and not just a straight count.

If you don't want to participate, you just don't pay attention to it. Approval (of the players involved) isn't necessary here, it is indeed completely public information.
In fact, the way this scoreboard has been coded (with the rating system) actually should help to CURB attacking lowbies compared to a flat k/d ratio counter, one of which was bound to crop up eventually. It rewards you more for going and killing people with better scores/ratios more than killing non-entities or people lower than you, if I'm not mistaken.

It also kinda encourages you to stay off the radar by playing more peacefully, if you don't want to become a higher profile target.

Would be nice if you could add current time somewhere

I think there's a bug in the longest streak calculations. Malarious had a streak of 12, and now he only has three, like it reset when he died or something.

International law being a quagmire nonwithstanding, I wasn't arguing over its lawfulness, but its ethics. If people don't want to be part of this scoreboard, they should not be forced to be part of it just because they're participating in Lusternia. You can ignore it, but it won't ignore you, and if you do participate in any sort of raid defense and get a kill there, your name will suddenly be on this list and paint you with extra incentive.

People are posting all sorts of things about us all over the place. You can hardly stop them. If the information is available, it's going to be used by someone, with or without your express permission.
Oh, and I seem to have kept my streak after I died, so I don't know...
