Okay, so +2 weighted for con in contrast to what the help scroll says.

As for changing the damage reduction to dmp against all; that would certainly help, but still be pretty powerful.
I personally prefer Kiradawea's idea of making it only work against mobs, but turning it into dmp is a step into the right direction, too (unless it already is and just not shown on bodyscan resistances full).

Since we're at it, reduce the throne blessing to 5% (weighted) to hp/mana/ego. It's still a nice quest to do since many people can benefit from it. I wouldn't mind changing Tosha to 5% also, but it's only for one person at a time, so that's not quite as much of a problem.

So what happens to us squishy ones who actually -need- that buff? You realise without the throne blessing, I hover around the 4200hp mark, right?
Ytran2012-06-06 02:24:49
Back in my day we didn't have throne blessings.

Switch to a tankier race? Spam Tosha?

I do kinda agree that the throne sees a little too much use for how good it is.
Unknown2012-06-06 02:36:54
I would be sad to see the Throne's effect lessened because I like when my numbers go up high, but it has sort of set an unrealistic baseline for what everyone's h/m/e should be. If it wasn't the most powerful blessing around it wouldn't be so bad, but it is, and it's kept up like clockwork. Don't think truefavors need a change, though.

My entire offense is based around being merian.

Plus, given that it's our org race, it's simply not an option.

:(

The reason why the throne blessing is too powerful is because it renders the lack of health "weakness" for certain races (which is used to balance against their often very powerful buffs) a bit meaningless.

Note: I am faeling.

That's right and even more the case for truefavours, since they not only provide a relative health buff because of the damage reduction but also a fixed bonus to con which will, relatively, benefit low con races more than high con ones.
Lothringen2012-06-06 03:37:54
Yes to nerfing both.
Kiradawea2012-06-06 07:21:22
Another thing to consider would be to not allow someone to have multiple truefavours at once. I don't quite want to put a blatant ban on multiple favours, but considering the strength of truefavours, having multiple of them might be a bit much.

As for what gives most health, that depends on how much constitution you have to begin with. +2 con would give me 686 more health (I have a 5% liferune). While a health blessing of 10% would give me about 520. The more base health you have, the better a percentage based health blessing from the throne is. Which makes me want to suggest making the health blessing a flat number. Though that isn't a perfect solution as then the Throne becomes better the less base health you have.

That being said, I'm not sure if the throne is the same as Tosha. I didn't take notes, but I could swear Tosha gave me less of a bonus than the throne.

Yes, Tosha is weaker than the Throne is.

A faeling that can reimagine themselves for an extra +4 con weight and +15% h/m/e from homunculus buff that stacks on top of throne?

Wait, I can do tha..... Oh, wait. I can't.

I do have lowmagic yello.... oh, wait. I'm highmagic.

Ahhhh! Processional. I can get a slight buff to sip. Guess we can nerf everything and leave a demigod with endowment with a little over 4k health.

Yay! Problem fixed!

We must not forget that the Urlach quest was originally intended as a Celest quest, no? I think it's then safe to assume that its target audience would be Celestians! (Read: Merian.)

What it means by "+2 to con" is that a TF gives, well, +2 to con (+1 for normal favour, +1 to all stats as TF - net gain of +2 con as they compound).
Unknown2012-06-06 11:55:00
I'm fine with nerfing Truefavours as long as we keep them relatively the same from a PvE standpoint.

Lower the con bonus and increase the damage reduction, but make it only work versus denizens. TF's are mainly rewards for doing a lot of PVE-ing, might as well make most of their benefits be for PVE.

Edit: You cold also add an influence bonus to TrueFavours.

Well, I mean, isn't that the point of merian? You trade tankiness for huge burst damage. Except that with throne/TF/etc, you're only slightly less tanky than everyone else as opposed to significantly.

I think what people are confused about is that the help file says all the benefits stack with previous levels (and in all other cases they do), and the first level says it gives +1 con and then truefavour says it gives +2 con so people are assuming that means you get +3 total, but actually you just get +2.

I like Deschain's suggested solution, it means that the TF has a real perceptible benefit without being hugely important for PVP.

Silvanus2012-06-06 15:07:41
I support nerfing of all these things, truefavors, Throne.

Makes high con races that are 'supposed' to be tanky actually tanky. But thats not going to happen.
Unknown2012-06-06 16:55:54
Think about what you write before you do so, eh? High con races will be such -regardless- of things like throne and TF's.
Enyalida2012-06-06 17:00:49
Because they have access to them as well!
