Subj: Lesson Sale and Curio Updates

Iron Realms is now running a lesson sale! You can purchase lessons
directly from the website at a steep discount at:
http://www.lusternia.com/Credits

Also, you can now convert lessons into curios! For every 10 curios
created in this manner, you will receive 1 free curio. It costs 30
lessons and the syntax is:
CURIO CONVERT LESSONS

Finally, rubbing curios has been slightly changed. There is now a 50%
chance when you rub, that the curio will transform into another random
curio. Most of the time, they will transform into the same type of curio
(magic item, damage enhancement, damage resistance or travel), but it is
possible that it will transform into any type of curio. Rare curios will
usually transform into another are curio.

Finally, the chance of rubbing for a Czigany coin has been lower as well
as the amount of gold. Rare curios will still result in two coins (if
you get coins) or in more gold (on average) if you receive gold.

Penned by My hand on the 10th of Shanthin, in the year 333 CE.

So. I still think the travel-packs are really over-priced, but this helps bring more curios into the game in another manner as well, which is pretty neat. Also, we were told that the lessons->curios thing will likely stick around, so-- a decent extra reward for when lessons are being given out.

Thanks for putting more thought into it, Admin-team.

Intriguing.

One question that just hit me about travel curios... Do they stack? I.e. if you get two lilies, do you get two more moves per second in forests?
Iosai2012-09-01 12:21:43
No.

I think it has been a long time since a change like the lesson conversion has left me feeling so satisfied. Never saw that change coming, either. Excellent work!
Ssaliss2012-09-01 14:40:22
Yep! I feel it's odd being able to transfer lessons to pieces since I don't really see a connection between the two, but since people have complained both about worthless lessons and overpriced pieces, I really do love this change. Not that I have any lessons to trade in, but it's still good!

I just think of it in terms of kids playing hooky and trading baseball cards in an alley instead of attending class. Or something like that.

I think it's extremely awesome. I'm just mildly miffed that it came the very evening after I spent 400-ish lessons in Enchantment because I had nothing else to spend them on. :<

First of all, I echo in the yays of this lesson conversion. I adore it muchly.

Next, thanks to fantastic folk, the collection powers have all been catalogued! All that's left now is just to collect the ambients of the 4th set curios, and even those have a decent head start! Just missing one or both of the messages now for the butterknife, ear, knucklebone, and spider! If anyone comes across them, I'd appreciate being told the message and the colours according to CONFIG COLOUR!
