Kinda getting annoyed... I like the flutter, light, sky, and astro sets in general but the ones that seem potentially useful to my character are in other sets :/

Yea, that's kind of annoying. I almost want to go and find other curios besides the set I'm collecting, but without knowing how the collections work exactly, I don't want to waste more credits doing that, but I also don't want to end up waiting until September when the 30% sale is over and it's going to be even harder to trade because the big buying rush will be over. :|

Edit: Also really hoping that the astro stuff is supposed to be Divinus-oriented, not only because Excorable is useless to me but also because there's only one other Divinus curio on Xiel's site while there are two for Excorable and it has to be even, dammit. D: Kinda sucks if people got the moon for the Excorable dmp, though. :/ Did file a bug, though.

Edit 2: It looks like the torture stuff from last week was Divinus and is (atm) Excorable this week, the former of which doesn't really make any sense. Unless they're going for some kind of opposite thing there, maybe - they defend against one and bolster its opposite. But Eventru said they're supposed to be the same, and it doesn't really make sense to get a Divinus buff from torture-y stuff. So I guess we'll see.

Like I said - they are supposed to mimic. Every set but those two follow that, excepting these two - and we're not out to give Exco/Divinus users any favours here. Likewise, were that the case, the light set would give Excor, etc.

Sorry! As to the theme behind it, I recall the ones designing the curios making a remark along the lines of "torture is divine" (heh heh. Heh. Haa.)

The ambients vary widely in theme from curio to curio in the same collection too. The difference between the torch and the candelabra is quite jarring.

Just missing the 3rd person ambient message for the mouth, if anyone comes across it! Thank you all again for your contributions so far!

Edit: Got the rib and pendulum, yay.

I'm a bit worried as to how much the gold sets will costs. Thanks to the wheel I have what (years ago) I would have considered quite a dragon's hoard of gold. But after seeing the credit market prices and reading a few posts I think all I have is chump change.
Ssaliss2012-08-21 15:23:12
Getting a price range on the gold packages would be good, yeah. Also, are the gold packages also discounted for the month, or will they always cost the same? Third, will they be available in the same sizes as the credit packages?

They will be available in the same sizes. I'm not sure on the second - I presume so, since they're considered artifacts, but that's in no way an official answer - and I'm not comfortable giving a price range.
Ssaliss2012-08-21 15:51:30
Well, at least that means it won't be the old 1.5m for 15 curios/coins. Thanks for the answers!
Eventru2012-08-21 17:50:15
Also, apparently the change to the astro/torture set were deliberate - however it's just them (so they resist divinus/asphyx and buff excor/asphyx, resist excor/magic, buff divinus/magic).

That was me that swapped the damage types on astro/torture. I thought that was more RP appropriate. (Envoys had suggested it like 5 minutes after they were released and I agreed it made sense.)
Xenthos2012-08-21 21:30:18
Can we have the next set of packages now, please? :(

Ah, thanks for clarifying! The post has been updated then. And woo, curios.

Celina brought this up to my attention - does the ambient of the tongs, when possessed by a female, cause them to curtsey instead of bow?

Yes, yes they do, apparently!

:o

Must hunt someone down.

Edit: Man, now I wonder if any of the other curios differ from gender to gender. Bugger.

What if they also vary by race? Or city? Think of the thousands of combinations you'll have to test!

You don't know how tempted I am to go in and add this, just to torment you. Random numbers of combinations of different types.

Or maybe I'll just say I did, and make you spend all that time looking to be sure!
