Lothringen:
I agree that the price could probably be dropped, and even more could be sold. Either way, I'm glad a large pile of gold is getting sucked up.
It's a good thing that gold is being sucked up, it's just infuriating me that it's being done in such a way that makes the bulk of players not even want to participate (or even unable to), while those few who can are left with very few trading partners (making it close to impossible to actually complete a set).
It leaves the end result lacking on all sides, with a large number of frustrated (or even worse, apathetic-- I'm looking at you here, Sojiro!) players.

So if curios are artifacts shouldn't the packages be 30% off?
Yeah, I've been buying 2 of the 100 piece packages per set but I'm hesitant on these ones.

From: Estarra the Eternal

Subj: Travel Curios
Just to be clear, the artifact sales does -not- apply to travel curios.
If you want them, you have to pay full price.

That is unfortunate. I'm going to have to think on this one.
Unknown2012-08-27 01:02:09
Whoa whoa, my apathy is well-founded given the information and prices presented! 30k per credit is way more than what I budgeted for.
Enyalida2012-08-27 01:37:25
I'm having a hard time finding it worth paying for these either, and I've collected 14 complete curios this month.
Unknown2012-08-27 01:48:24
Yeah, I did 15 myself because of the promotion, it's a bit disappointing that with the right gold price, more people would have jumped in.
As it is, I just went and spent my credits/gold on more arties, oh well.

I might end up doing the same. I have all this gold that isn't enough to buy 10 curio pieces to complete a single curio, but that is simultaneously enough gold to supply my combat needs for the rest of my RL life.
Xenthos2012-08-27 02:03:01
And I have plenty of gold, but a stark lack of trade-pals because people like you are opting out.
Blargh.
/keep gold.

I hear the grumblings of a bitter, old man.
These will be on sale indefinitely, so save your complaining for a much later date, maybe. Or, pretend these things don't exist and you don't really need to buy and collect them at all. That works for some people.

Bird is jungle? Where are there jungles in Lusternia?

Like many things, they're out there, but in smaller numbers than we'd like. Nonetheless, we acknowledge curios will be here to stay (and these will remain for sale permanently) - it may not be of any interest now, but that may change in the future. To answer your question more directly, though, it occurs in a few godrealms.
Enyalida2012-08-27 02:20:40
I have the feeling that activity with curios will drop to none-ish unless there is a promotion based around making them cheaper again, just because it's a lot easier to find what you need when everyone else is also looking. If you're the only one that week who has bought new curios, you're going to have a quite difficult time finding the pieces you need (the Xenthos problem).
EDIT: And with a hard time finding matches to complete a set, the onset of apathy/dispassion.

Apropos of nothing, to whichever of the admin had their hand the figurine set being 'Tinker Tailor Solider Spy', I <3 you . I may have no means to get the set but it made me grin

The scholar collection goes to the World Library, in an otherwise inaccessible(seems like) room just west of Weeky Peedia.
