lines and black traceries of equations, and as a slow grinding fills your ears, a bell begins to

The first time the razor ambient message fired for me I thought Fain had just entered the realms or was about to stop by or something.

Curio Craziness!

Curios will be released as artifacts this month. The first release are magic item curios, which when put together create a special item able to hold 200 enchantment charges. Each week during the month, a new type of curio is scheduled to be released. Further, if you are able to form collections (one completed curio from each of the four types in a matching set), a special power will be granted! The last set of curios will be only sold for gold so make sure to save your sovereigns because they won't be cheap! See HELP CURIOS for more information on what they are.

• August 1: Magic Item Curios: A new artifact shop has opened, selling Magic Item Curios! Make sure to get a package of them while the artifact sale is ongoing. See HELP CURIOS for more information on what they are.
  
• August 12: More Curios: A new set of curios is scheduled to be released.
  
• August 19: Yet More Curios: A new set of curios is scheduled to be released.
  
• August 26: Ye Gods! More Curios: A new set of curios is scheduled to be released. This last set will be sold for gold, so save your sovereigns because they will be expensive!
  

As much as I like curios... Seriously? The first batch of curios had 19 of them, the second 7. The third (the one people are collecting now) had 16. I hope we don't get another 16 each in the next sets, because that would seriously suck trying to gather them all :(

I do hope they do something to make it possible to collect the newer kinds, with so many out, it's going to be impossible to randomly (via the wheel) get the kind you need.

The packages will still be sold. I hope there are separate kinds of packages though, and not that they'll just add another set of curios to the current packages (which means there'll only be a 25% chance to get the fourth set from the packages in the end).

Curios were always intended to be traded, rubbing for gold/coins was added to resolve the perceived glut of 'useless' curios!

It was never intended to force you to buy big packages of curios to rub them to run the Wheel and pray for good luck.

And I'm sure the curios from the fourth set will be sold separately, at least. They'll cost gold.

Oh, right. Still, the same applies to the third set: If they're just added to the current packages, you'd only have a 33% chance of getting those pieces, while basically "wasting" the other 66%, unless you wait until the third week to buy the packages. Of course, since we weren't told there would be more curios coming, most people who wanted curios already bought them, so there'd probably be a 33% "loss" no matter how you look at it.

Right, I wasn't talking about you personally spinning the wheel and hoping, I meant that if you need a particular piece and no one happens to have that piece, once the sale is over, you had better hope someone gets a lucky spin, an EXCEEDINGLY lucky spin.

While I think its grand if someone wants to collect every curio possible, I think most people will just aim to get one collection of four. You'll see why as they get released!
