During the Elder Wars, the Soulless Gods began to ravage and assault the forests, causing much carnage and the loss of one of the sacred forests. Seeking a solution, the Elder Gods developed the Maeve consciousness and by her were able to allow the fae of the forests, and the animals residing there, to fight and defend their forest homes against the soulless gods.
