Portrait of the Artist's Husband in Templar Regalia by Arunasapta
Winner June 2012
In which one particular dracnari Templar displays a flail and a suit of well-fitted armour in the Gaudiguchian style, presented against an abstract background. While there has been perhaps some stylization in certain details, the twinkle in his eye was most carefully duplicated, lest he be rendered unrecognisable. The artist is aware that many Bonecrushers prefer a paired set of weapons for use, making the display of a lone flail out of synch with reality. The artist opted for asymmetry for reasons of balance of imagery and because the artist can synch with reality however she pleases, thank you kindly.
The artist is also very grateful to her spouse for agreeing to model over the course of several days and patiently enduring the indignity of having colour-swatches pinned to him. One shall say nothing of the cunningly-applied starch used to ensure his cloak was properly dramatic, save for the fact that the ensuing laundry was nothing short of nightmarish. - By Arunasapta
