The Great Huntress by Vix
Merit for October 2006
Once upon a time a young elfen roamed a peak
Searching and searching, her prey to seek
Creeping ever quiet, looking here and there,
Checking every spot, not missing anywhere.
At last she found her target unware
and snuck up behind it with much care
With a quick flick she drew her athame dagger
and approached the creature with a silly swagger.
She pointed at its heart as it quietly ate
Causing the creature to become quite irate.
A shining pentagram flew whizzingly forth;
Fearful the creature burrowed north.
Giving chase the young elfen took off with a bound
Tracking her quarry as fast as a hound.
Tired and hungry, the rockeater twirled
And faced its hunter with rocky lips curled.
It took a deep breath, inhaling aloud,.
Then puffed up a sizzling, fiery cloud
Screaming in pain the elfen was hit,
But to give up, she could not permit.
Pointing her dagger she stabbed towards its heart
Causing her target's skin to smart.
The prey struck back, slashing with claws,
But the adamant hunter refused to pause.
Uncorking her vial she took a long draught
Healing herself right on the spot.
Stabbing again for a final blow,
The rockeater giving its last crow.
As the prey collapsed and grew bone cold,
The elfen ascended to the level of Bold!
Rejoicing her gain to circle two
Away with the corpse the novice flew.
