War looms closer with each passing day
Fear creeps up as pain sets in
It's under your nose and in your face
Around every corner, at every place
Bleeding hearts and children crying
Curses flying, people dying.

They say it's for a cause, and we're to blame.
Little do they know that they're the shame.

Worse and worse with each new day
Terror reigns as the blood does flow
The sky rains blame as bodies begin to fall
It's like being trapped behind some big wall
With nowhere to go and no place to run
Just waiting for a person to kill you for fun.
With broken homes and shattered lives,
This war's just begun, you have to stay strong,
But too late it already is, the damage is done.

Consumed by anger and driven by hate
Darkness comes to hand me my fate.

Death and destruction happen each day
It makes you wonder, will it ever go away?
With no end in sight
All that's left is to stand and fight
For that little freedom we have left
Before carnage consumes and destroys us all
But til then I will stand tall
And continue to fight, give it my all
My fullest might, so that we'll reunite
To stop this terror and end this war
It's a long way off and we've got ages to go
So let the pain begin and let the blood flow.

This war is pointless, we want to be free
Instead of just living a life of misery.

The end is near... for me it is
And I can finally hear
The enemy's sound, coming near
Soon I'll have an empty gaze
Close my eyes and go to a special place
See the face of one young man
Laughing with joy, without a care in the world
Who's actually free...
The light's out, the pain over,

That young man was me.
