The Sleeping Forest by Kielo
Merit for February 2007
Under ancient bows of golden wood,
The forest sits in stilled repose
She sleeps, She dreams, She slumbers deep,
The forest lies in stilled repose
Untouched,
Unseen,
Unswaying beams,
The forest waits in sealed respite,
She sleeps, She dreams, She slumbers deep
Her children cast in timeless spell,
To still the tide of darkest stain
Beneath green wings of shaded eaves,
The forest sits in stilled repose
She sleeps, She dreams, She slumbers deep,
The forest lies in stilled repose
Untouched,
Unseen,
Undying leaves
The forest waits in sealed respite,
She sleeps, She dreams, She slumbers deep
Her faithful trees sit fettered fast,
To stop the spread of deepest hate
Over silent gleam of silver brook,
The forest sits in stilled repose
She sleeps, She dreams, She slumbers deep,
The forest lies in stilled repose
Untouched,
Unseen,
Unmoving streams
The forest waits in sealed respite,
She sleeps, She dreams, She slumbers deep
Her coven poised in endless vigil,
To halt the march of eldest bane
Under ancient bows of golden wood,
The forest rests in fixed repose
Beneath green wings of shaded eaves,
The forest lies in fixed repose
Over silent gleam of silver brook,
The forest waits in fixed repose
Untouched,
Unseen,
Unwavering seams
The forest waits;
She sleeps,
She dreams,
She slumbers deep
