Short Faeling-Style Poems, by a Moondancer by Piali
Runner Up for February 2007
Squirrel sits on a branch.
She chitters angrily Sorry!
I took your berries...
Crow swivels its head
In me, cold fear arises
You are not my kin
The maiden. Your grace
and beauty astonishes.
But stick around, please!
The mother. Your calm
touch soothes and heals. Feeling of home.
Can I have some cookies?
The crone. Withered face,
Wrinkled hands. Endless wisdom.
Grim, yet, kind-hearted.
My ego battered,
O Father Sun, give me strength!
Thanks to You, not shattered.
Month of Kiani.
Sweet sounds of birds and pixies.
Wistful for Delport.
Sister Snake. Are you
really so kind? Your children
always poison me.
My fae stand by me.
Delicate little creatures!
All with gifts to give.
Estar in the hills.
Snowflakes hitting the scholars.
Bumping into sheep.
Countess Cecelia
Of unbounded forgiveness.
Somehow, you never die.
Little pixies are
fast as quicksilver. Slow down!
We'll go to the Flame.
Small spores. Send me home.
Funny scent tickling my nose.
A-tchoo! Back at Mother.
Sweet stupidity.
I can belch without a care,
Endless talk of cheese.
Mother Moon, give me
silver light in which to dance
I praise Your power.
Why are your cubs sick,
Miss Trundle? Your care-taking skills
are quite suspect.
My mind is weary.
Tiny hand on my forehead.
Thank you, little sprite.
