Flame of Her Heart: A Tribute by Rika
Merit for November 2007
From the weakened Seals, the Basin’s strife,
Born, he was, from the Ashes of Sacrifice,
Bearing His Medallion of Life.
And from that day, His flame brought to her, hope.
The Flame of her Heart flickered.

Fresh and young, mysterious He came,
He sought and shielded the Idol of Beauty.
And from within Her crystalline tomb,
A beacon of light, warned Him of Her plight.
The Legion appeared from the darkness
With chalices of blood, defiled and consumed.
But He, and His steadfast followers
Fought and overcame the Legion’s legions.
The Flame of her Heart glimmered.

Months and years passed, His watch ever firm,
He taught to treasure the gifts of Life.
Wary of the Soulless and the Twelve,
He healed and guarded, as Dionamus did.
From the ruins of ancient peoples,
The Dread Lord of Contagion rose,
Spread his plague and undead army.
But He guided healers to a cure
The Flame of her Heart flared.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Contagion keeping its promise,
He returned to afflict the Soulless’ prison
The Avenger Himself, defended them
But the Dread Lord had already shrouded them
The White Flame rose, and cured Avechna,
But too late, for the Plague wanted divine pow’r.
And so He did, make His Sacrifice,
To protect the Immanidivus.
The Flame of her Heart blazed.
In the weakened Seals, the Basin’s strife,
Died, he did, into Ashes of Sacrifice,
Bearing His Medallion of Life.
And from that day, His flame brought to her, ache.
And so, the Flame of her Heart vanished.
