Letters of the Forests by Rika

Merit for June 2008

The following letters were found in a box in an abandoned treehouse in the
Northern Serenwilde.

Dear Glissia Ravenquill,

It has been many months since I have written to you. I hope I find you well.
Ever since I last wrote to you, I have been able to add many more scrolls to my
personal library in my treehouse. I really wish you would be able to visit me
and my collection someday.

The Coven of Mother Moon performed a ritual not too many days ago. The entire
forest was showered by silver beams as she descended upon the forest. I
wasn’t able to see her, but from what I have heard from some of my friends
here, she is definitely glorious in all ways. I also heard that she prophesised
of the Basin falling to a great plague. I really hope this stays a prophecy
only.

How are things in the Gloriana? I hope to hear from you soon.

With love,
Krystae Stagleaf

Dear Krystae Stagleaf,

How delighted I am to hear from you! I am very well indeed, thank you. I am
glad you have been able to add to your collection, but unfortunately, progress
here in the Gloriana has been slow. Mother Night teaches her Coven not to give
away too much about their rituals and teachings, so I haven’t been able to
learn much these last few months. Perhaps I will attempt to write about Brother
Raven instead.

As for the warning of Mother Moon, Rowena Nightshade, Queen of the Night, has
not announced anything about any plagues, though she has mentioned that the
cities of the Holy Celestine Empire will soon attempt to reach another plane.
Mother Moon is probably worrying about nothing, so I would not heed her words
too much.

Things in the Gloriana have been quiet as usual, but I am certainly looking
forward to seeing how the projects in the cities are going. I am sure there
will be much to learn about there.

P.S I would love to visit you sometime.

With love,
Glissia Ravenquill

Dear Glissia Ravenquill,

Perhaps you are right about Mother Moon’s prophecies after all. I still feel
uneasy about things, though. Would you like to come one Full Moon after Project
Cosmic Hope (I think that’s what the city-folk are calling their project to
reach that plane)? You can take a look at my extended collection and we can
also discuss writing a book about this Project Cosmic Hope. I will also be
inviting one of my friends in the Ackleberry. She is quite keen on collecting
texts as we do, so you should get along quite well.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.
With love,
Krystae Stagleaf

Dear Melani Lakeheart,

How are things in the Ackleberry forest? I have always wanted to visit you, but
my duties as the librarian of the Serenwilde prohibits me from doing so. I have
a friend from the Gloriana that will be visiting me in the Serenwilde exactly
one Full Moon after the Project Cosmic Hope that you last wrote to me about. I
am hoping that you will also be able to join us, so we may discuss writing a
book about it.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

With love,
Krystae Stagleaf

Dear Krystae Stagleaf,

A Full Moon after Project Cosmic Hope it is! Rowena Nightshade, Queen of the
Night, has been talking a lot about this project these past couple of months. I
am sure we will have a lot to discuss.

With love,
Glissia Ravenquill

Dear Glissia Ravenquill,

What a tragedy! I heard the Gloriana was engulfed by this unknown entity from
the new plane. I really hope you are alright, for I have heard such horrible
stories about the forest. With the Ackleberry gone... Melani gone... you are my
last friend outside the Serenwilde. Please, please write back soon.

With concern,
Krystae Stagleaf

Dear Krystae Stagleaf,

My dear Krystae, there is no need to worry. The beauty and subtle power of
Mother Night has blessed us all! Queen Rowena Nightshade has told us that the
glory of the Glomdoring will spread throughout the Basin. We will not be far
apart soon enough, my dear Krystae. Queen Rowena will rule as the Queen of all,
and the Glomdoring forest will be all.

The Almighty Presence has also granted Brother Crow a stronger body. He mind
and talons are both sharper. Together with Mother Night, the glory and beauty
of the Glomdoring will be felt everywhere. It shall not be long, dear Krystae.

Walk in Shadows,
Glissia Crowquill
