Nil's Torment by Shaddus

Merit for September 2008

Rip from me, my very soul,
let the demons devour me whole.
Guide me into this place of hate,
leave me alone inside the gate.

The gates of Nil, they open wide,
inviting me to step inside.
Shed the fragile human skin,
become like those damned within.

Devoid of any lasting thing,
I can still hear the angels sing.
It is as if they torture us,
they renew in us, our morbid lust.

We gnash our teeth, scream and wail,
begging to be let out of Nil.
We want to silence the angels' song,
we know that it will not take so long.

Watch the fragile wings be crushed,
the tormenting song forever hushed.
As all those eternally damned
the pearly gates of Celestia ram.

Finally, on the Judgement Day,
it seems that we will get our way.
Preparing together our final fight,
we blink into the bright white light.

Seeing death, some fall upon the ground,
others are held up by the throng.
One by one into the lake of fire
we are cast, as if onto a pyre.

Screaming in a murderous rage,
not a one can escape this cage,
and through it all, we all long,
just to hear the angels song.
