Two Poems for Moon and Wilde by Serella

Chasing Moonbeams
~

Mother Moon's light drifts through the trees like a lantern,
A silver gleam in the distance, smaller than a willowisp.
Where are you going, Mother Moon? I will follow you,
Through the forests and glades where you cast your light,
Under the shade of the Moonhart trees.

Mother Moon's light drifts over the mirror of the water,
Moonbeams always out of reach, dissolving at my touch.
Where are you going, Mother Moon? I will follow you,
Where the laughing pixies play under your light,
Under the shade of the Moonhart trees.

Mother Moon's light shines full and bright in the sky,
Casting a silvery veil over the night.
Stay with me, Mother Moon, until the dawn has come,
Weave your moonbeams like silver fingers through my hair,
Under the shade of the Moonhart trees.

Wilde Lullaby
~

All the little things are sleeping,
Pixies, trees, and faelings too.
Rest until the dawn, my darling,
Mother Moon will watch o'er you.

All the stars up in the heavens,
I love you more than all their sum,
Sleep now in my arms, my darling,
Sleep until the dawn has come.

The centaur colts are in their beds,
The pixies are all tucked away,
Hush now, go to sleep, my darling,
Sleep until the break of day.

Mother Moon will grant sweet dreams,
Feel her kiss upon your brow,
Don't fear, darling, I am with you,
So close your eyes and slumber now.
