Silver Elegy by Solanis
Runner Up for November 2009
You graced us with Your presence,
Among us in many a guise.
You walked amid the stars above,
Keeping open a watchful eye.
Where You stepped, we blossomed.
Where You danced, we bloomed.
We were close to Your light,
The light of Silver Moon.
Near You, eye of the tempest,
We gazed outwards to the world.
In prayer, ritual, song and verse,
New paths and beginnings did unfurl.
Your eternal smile, mysterious,
Vast as the passage of time.
Wayward as the break of dawn,
Bright as the fall of eventide.
Yet Your eyes spoke differently,
Of Your Argent Wrath, a force
That tells of bitter anguish.
Nature's fury without remorse.
But all things come to an end.
You Yourself taught us that.
Just as there is a time for joy,
There is also a time for sorrow.
Memories are all that remain.
The silent caress of a fresh spring zephyr.
The tinkling of chimes in full-blown summer.
The autumnal scent of leaves underfoot.
The torrential rush of a wintry cascade.
All remind us of You.
Though Your Meditations may take You far,
Remember us always, Your faithful followers.
We know that in time, You will return.
But 'til then, we shall not forget.
