A Song of Estelbar by Jadu

Merit for January 2010

'Tis the way that it is
'Tis the way that it's been
From time immemorial
For years upon end
In the tiny village of Estelbar
In the Furrikin village of Estelbar

The sun sets low on the Tolborolla Valley
As shepherds and farmers head home.
In the fields and the meadows they dare not dally,
For fear that their dinners grow cold

Cows on the roads, chickens in the yards,
Furry girls in sundresses, with nary a frown
Beauty and charm fit for the songs of bardsâ€"
So are the sights of our town

'Tis the way that it is,
'Tis the way that it's been
For time immemorial
For years upon end
In the little village of Estelbar
In the Furriken village of Estelbar

The sun rises o'er the hills each day
As busy farmers do greet their fields
They round up the chickens and bundles of hay
Life is as good as it feels!

The grain needs storing
And the cows need tending
No time for exploring
Until the chores have ended

'Tis the way that it is
And the way that it's been
For time immemorial
From way way back when
In the Furriken village of Estelbar
In the charming village of Estelbar

Villagers stroll to and fro
'Bout the gardens and shops
In this pastoral community
The cycle of life ne'er stops

In peace the Furriken live
With their Tae'dae neighbors
In Lusternia's web of life
They go about their day's labours.

'Tis the way that it's been
'Tis the way that it is
For years upon years
From now 'til the end
In our ancestral village of Estelbar
In the Furriken village of Estelbar
