Epiphany - a Tainted Warrior’s Legacy by Kyair
Merit for January 2012
In the dawn of my solitude
This voice whispers to me
Of sweet nothings.
A loneliness I feel
More often each dusk.
This life of agony
Of torment
Stares at me through
Steamed mirrors.
I scream silently.
Within my soul
My heart
My mind
An overwhelming
Calmness of death
Makes me tremble
With excitement
With anticipation.
This stillness clings
Like a hot sword
Slicing my cold skin.
I smile
Content.
Continuing to keep
My flawless enemies
Afar
I stand alone.
Loved, I am not.
Loathed, I am.
This fire so warm
Like a friend
Gone too long.
The world is not
As it seems
As it should be.
Dry tears fall
Over my blue cheeks.
My eyes swell
As my hands quiver.
I sway to the silent music
That controls the slowing
Breaths of lifeless journeys.
These feet of stone
Weigh me heavily down.
I am further
Beyond the repair of
Any salvation.
A constant beating
Pulsing through my
Grey veins
Give way to my shallow
Water of release.
The sky above
Crackles with fire
With streaks of white.
I gaze ahead
Finding no path to follow.
Before me, a stone
Of cement paves a block
In my position.
This, my warning
My beloved truth,
A step of knowledge,
Of wisdom,
Shatters all silence.
