The Flooding of New Celest by Nimhuire
Merit for July 2013
Let all of you who hear these words
Listen and hearken well,
Of when Nature's wrath was woken
and on New Celest fell.
'Twas in the midst of Urlachmar,
When winter winds did blow,
Fair Faethorn all in white arrayed
slept soft in silent snow.
When came a cry to pierce all hearts,
Save those of hardened stone.
A brownie's cry as cruel arms bore
Him far from forest home.
'Twas not a tainted Nihilist
who bore the fae away,
Nor did a wyrded faeling bind
brownie to Night's Tah'vrai,
But a noble Knight of New Celest
sworn to protect and save.
Yet an innocent life he took
and to Raziela gave.
Of the love of Raziela
There are many a hymn.
It was not love when she did change
brownie to cherubim.
For many moons the heedless fools
Had scoffed at Nature's ire,
And robbed fair Faethorn of her folk.
blinded by Light's desire.
But in the month of Urlachmar
Celest a lesson learned.
Lady Lisaera spoke to warn
of allies' anger earned.
Terentia with prideful pique
claimed discipline held sway,
And gasped that 'Wilde should dare demand
On part of stolen fae..
Elcyrion raised calming voice
to make a peaceful plea,
While Viravain, with mocking tone
Doubted Blade's verity.
Discussion raged amongst the Gods,
With words both weak and wise,
And while they spoke Lisaera caused
The Inner Sea to rise.
The time for words was past and done.
The time to act was now.
For city must be taught to heed,
and no more theft allow.
No empty threat to new Celest
Did the Mother make:
The great wave fell upon the land
causing the ground to quake.
For moments few the streets did flood
and rushing waters roared,
Then waves returned to their true home
'Wilde's point no more ignored.
