Sweet Dreams by Melle

Merit for January 2014

Sweet dreams, an epiphany,
Something that I can't deny.
Something as sweet as honey,
And as soft as an aslaran's kiss.

Searching helplessly for such a thing,
All I see are dreaded dreams,
That plague my thoughts,
And keep me up at night.

A gleaming red is all I see,
A discordant melody, all I hear.
For what is this, an omen perhaps?
And what of these strange things?

All I want are sweet dreams,
Of my family, of my friends,
Of laughing fae and butterfly wings,
Is this all too much to ask?

For this is what keeps me here,
The joy and passion of those
Whom stand by me eternal,
And a unified heart as whole.

Sweet dreams, an epiphany,
Something that I can't deny.
Something as sweet as honey,
And as soft as an aslaran's kiss.

As I wander around helplessly,
Searching for the dreams so sweet,
All I hear are groans and moans,
Of the nightmares so real.

Oh, Dreamer, will You, please,
Grant me solace from this plague?
Allow me to taste honey,
And feel the aslaran's kiss?

To see my friends and family,
Laughing fae and butterfly wings,
To see the joy that fills the Basin,
Instead of this dread and fear.
