THE INKLING

Not long ago as years are measured, during the time of the returning Red Star, not when it first appeared among the stars, nor when it unleashed its horror once again, but as it approached, as it grew, it was then that the Pyresmith summoned His shards to the Plane of Elemental Fire, to stand in the midst of the Seven Sacred Pyres. Here they gathered before the Pyre of Banked Embers, to hear His Will in the heat and ash of Pyre of planning and preparation.

To Him gathered, Kurut, Zygot, Iosen, Winue, and myself. Much of what was discussed is of no direct import to the later event, but here was as best as I recall, was the first time the Lord Pyresmith revealed His plan. It began with a casual comment where He indicated a desire to include a Void generator, "...inside the tertiary elbow joint..." which turned out for undisclosed reasons to not be possible. Not being as you might suspect the dullest tool in the shed and being hit over the head with an anvil sized hint, I asked, Lord Yomoigu, "Are you creating yourself a new limb, Lord?"

To which the Lord Yomoigu's eyes flared with flames of gold informing us, "Far more than just a limb, My shard! My masterpiece. One of them, anyway." Then He quickly changed the topic, asking us to Tell Him what we knew of the Red Star. While this discussion continued for some length, nothing more of this masterpiece was mention.

THE INTERIM

Not many months later, Lord Yomoigu requested we gather for Him various commodities mostly of metals, the number of which was far more than the personal rifts of mortals. These along with more that I should not and must not divulge were handed to Him for use in His Forge.

THE UNVEILING

In the time between the horrors of the Red Star being vanquished, yet still before the Trials of Ascension, I found myself being summoned to the Eternal Flame, already in the Lord Pyresmith's attendance and well into whatever discussion was taking place, were Iari, Seraku, Aiyana, Persayis, Eltorinus, Eritheyl, Alary, Feyda, Synkarin, and Ashed. It was here His work, His new creation was unveiled.

Here entering in the middle of things I can only presume that Eritheyl had just pressed for details of its creation for the Gossip as Lord Yomoigu's eyes flickered with orange flames before saying to  Eritheyl, "Unless your Gossip is as verbose as Xyl's library, I could not begin to explain the complex formulae and concepts that went into the creation of My finest creation."

Still something in Eritheyl's demeanor suggested to me he was desperately scrambling to press the Pyresmith for something, anything, press worthy.

Having just arrived, or perhaps unknown to me, simply had just returned, Synkarin commented to Lord Yomoigu that the creation looked great, "Almost like you were never missing it!" Even then I suspected it must contain enhancements not even the flesh of gods possess.

To those gathered, the Pyresmith announced to that His Instruments had done for Him a great service procuring certain rare substances for its forging, however." At this a sudden interest seized Iari's, her ears perking up and with a thoughtful look said, "Rare things..." To which, with a smile pulling at His lips, the Pyresmith added, "They have faced the Occulta Voluntis itself, and prevailed."

Though they pressed, those gathered found the Lord Pyresmith unyielding to elaborate more on the Occulta Voluntis. Simply informing those gathered that the Occulta Voluntis was a matter for His Walkers and that in time perhaps they would themselves find the terms which might make any degree of sense to mortals.

And it was this with the creation of His masterpiece, that Lord Yomoigu, also known as the Pyresmith, also known as the Teacher of the Way, gain yet another title...the Silverfist.
