A Sonnet for Viravain by Tarkenton
Merit for February 2015
Arose in my home song, lifting my soul
Arose the need, capture blood of the songs
A rose in hand, bards I ask come along
A rose desires blood, to become whole
Arose shaded of Night, imperial
Arose a blade in hand, slit throat in song
A rose budding, bloss'ming, fin'lly bloom'ng
A rose bloom'd, Lady Viravain reveal't
Arose the blade, Nightshade's last service
Arose the blade, the Lady awakens
A rose tempts me, renders me curious
A rose draws me, beautiful, soul taken
Arose the need, to seek and understand
Arose the Lady, perfect, She beckons
