Back to Contests

The Revelation by Zarialle

Higher gods, Higher gods!?

They defy all the odds.

From whence do They come?

Should we care where from?

Aelish the lead to Celest He went

After slaying the Soulless and fixing the rent

Of all destruction with a waving hand

Looking the heroes Him and His band.

Karagash, Iron God, made His choice by strength

The Engine He claimed and tested at length

Hunts were called and fights to death

Before we could catch a breath.

Then the Hooded chose Her place

But Gaudiguch did not embrace

So Frai cast them out en masse

To gain obesience and end the sass.

Serane likewise faced enmity

Glomdoring shunned their deity

Outright yells against Her there

But later agreed on a better snare.

The Lady of Flowers, Luella was called

To Serenwilde She was installed

Though She seemed a proper Goddess

Her philosophies of Nature were quite a mess.

Hallifax fell to Sciomore's dictum

His mandates exposed Him as no chum

Absolute rule was what He asked

And soon the citizens were all tasked.

Each God a home conveniently taken

Leaving the faithful of Old quite shaken

The Elder Gods, a lasting mem'ry

And many would not be fooled eas'ly.

The pieces they clicked and holes were found

Fangs of the Beast were now bound

Together to discover the truth

Of these Usurpers who were most uncouth.

Philosophers, thinkers, historians all

Offered explanation how false the fall

Of Estarra and the Soulless were

Further proof of what didn't occur.

Demands, commands, and orders more

These Usurpers tested our core

Turning us 'gainst each other

Our faith, loyalty, ethos and brother.

None is real, can it be?

This existence was but slavery!

The Fangs sought to break us free

While Usurpers' puppets kept busy.

"Kill Revelations and offer to us!"

All the Usurpers dictated thus

But some were given other orders

From beyond this reality's borders.

"Eat the foam the Revelations drop."

"Quickly quickly this charade must stop!"

And so we did to indignant cries

"Sick you'll be!" were the Usurpers' lies.

The more we ate the closer we got

Until some few awoke to the spot

Where these "gods" truly reside

Their farce revealed and defied.

Upon Nirvana the battle ensued

But the Usurpers proved to be quite shrewd

And as Their struggle turned most sour

They fired our bodies with Their power.

The first, the brave, our noble saviours,

We were freed by their behaviour.

Reality restored, the Usurpers a dream

The Basin, all in, made an odd team.

Awoken, confused, but glad to know Truth,

All due to those given to sleuth,

Many were pleased at leaving behind,

Those Usurpers who had kept us confined.

But a fair few wished to go back,

Preferring a world that we now lack,

And so it can be for all who desire,

To visit Nirvana as they retire

And dream a Dream of their heart's content

Without what we had in all its torment.
