A Clash in Lapping Waves

and taking ancient castle stone,
dams river running north.

He claims black tower as his own,
hangs flags from parapets,
and in his magnanimity,
takes steward's recompense.

He watches earthwork overcome,
the river spilling free,
and when krokani see him out,
his tears go to the sea.
